SINIF ÖĞRETMENİ ADAYLARININ GAZLAR KONUSUNDAKİ KAVRAMLAR İLE İLGİLİ BİLGİ DÜZEYLERİ VE SAHİP OLDUKLARI KAVRAM YANILGILARININ BELİRLENMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının gazlar konusundaki kavramları anlama düzeyleri ve kavram yanılgıları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi, Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Bölümü Sınıf Öğretmenliği Programında öğrenim gören 71 ikinci sınıf öğrencisi ile Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Bölümü Sınıf Öğretmenliği Anabilim dalında öğrenim gören 19 ikinci sınıf öğrencisinden oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacına uygun olarak alanda daha önceden hazırlanan bir testten yararlanılarak iki aşamalı bir test geliştirilmiştir. Oluşturulan testin birinci aşaması beş seçenekli çoktan seçmeli sorulardan, ikinci aşaması ise birinci aşamadaki her sorunun ardından öğrencilerin tercih ettikleri seçeneği seçme nedeninin sorgulandığı bir kısımdan oluşmaktadır. İki aşamalı testin kullanılma sebebi kavram yanılgılarını derinlemesine tespit etmektir. Elde edilen veriler incelendiğinde öğretmen adaylarının gazlar konusu ile ilgili kavramları anlama düzeylerinin düşük olduğu ve öğretmen adaylarının birçok kavram yanılgısına sahip oldukları görülmektedir. Çalışmanın sonunda öğretmen adaylarına gazlar konusu ile ilgili kavramları daha doğru bir şekilde kazandırmak için bazı önerilere yer verilmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler:Fen Öğretimi, Kimya Öğretimi, Gazlar, Kavram Yanılgısı, Sınıf Öğretmeni Adayları

In this study pre-service elementary teachers? level of understanding of gases concepts and misconceptions about gases were determined. Sample of the research consisted of 71 pre-service elementary teachers from Mustafa Kemal University and 19 pre-service elementary teacher from Fırat University. Qualitative and quantitative research methods are used in the study. For the purpose of the study a two-tier test developed with using an existed test at the literature. There are five multiple choose test at the first level of the test and a zone for students? cause of choose what they select at the first level. Reason of using two-tier test is to determine the misconceptions deeply. The results of the research show that the pre-service elementary teachers? level of understanding of gases concepts was low and they have a lot of misconceptions about gases. Some suggestions for the teaching about gases to the pre-service elementary teachers presented at the end of the study.Key Words: Science Education, Chemistry Education, Gases, Misconception, Pre-service Elementary Teachers
