İSA MESİH FİGÜRLÜ FİLMLERİN DİNLER TARİHİ AÇISINDAN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ: HOLLYWOOD ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Sinema, XIX yüzyılın sonlarında Avrupa'da icat edilmiştir. Sinemanın ilk günlerinden itibaren Avrupalılar kendi inançlarının merkezinde bulunan İsa ile ilgili filmler yapmıştır. İsa Mesih figürlü filmler, izleyicilerin yoğun ilgisini çekmiştir. İlerleyen yıllarda sinema yapımında egemenlik Amerikan film Endüstrisi olan Hollywood'a geçmiştir. Hollywood da Avrupalıların dini film akımını sürdürmüştür. Bu dini filmlerin en önemli öznesi Amerika'da da yine İsa Mesih olmuştur. Amerikan film endüstrisi İsa'yı anlatan film yapımını bir adım öne taşımıştır. Hollywood, artık sadece İsa'nın hayatını anlatan filmler yapmamaktadır. Doğrudan İsa'nın hayatını anlatmak yerine altmetinde İsa'yı konu edinerek daha etkili bir anlatım yapmaktadır. Biz de bu çalışmamızda İsa Mesih figürünü konu edinen Hollywood filmlerini dinler tarihi açısından değerlendirmeye aldık. Çalışmamız giriş ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde İsa döneminden önce ve sonra Filistindeki dini ve sosyal hayattan bahsettik. Birinci bölümde sinemaya ait temel unsurlara değindik. İkinci bölümde Amerikan sinemasında yapılmış olan doğrudan İsa'nın hayatını anlatan bütün filmleri dinler tarihi açısından değerlendirdik. Üçüncü bölümde ise Hollywood'un İsa Mesih figürünü altmetinde nasıl işlediğini örnek filmler üzerinden inceledik. Cinema was invented in Europe at later 19th. Century. Europeans have made movies about Jesus who is the center of their beliefs since the first days of cinema. Movies with figures of Jesus Christ has attracted the audience at most. Later in time, the American 'Hollywood' has seized the supremacy in movies industry. And Hollywood too continued the European's religious cinema movement. Jesus Christ became the most important subject of those movies in America too. Moreover, movies about Jesus Christ has been taken a step forward by the Americans. Now Hollywood does not make movies that tells Jesus Christ's life only. Instead, they make a much more influential approach by putting the subject Jesus into subtext of a movie. In this study, we evaluated the Hollywood movies with the subject of Jesus figure from the perspective of history of religions. This study consists of an introduction and three chapters. In the introduction, we have mentioned the social life in Palestine before and after the Jesus. In the first chapter, we have referred to the basic elements of cinema. In the second chapter, we evaluated all the American movies which tells Jesus Christ's life directly with the perspective of history of religions. And in the third chapter we analyzed how Hollywood used the Jesus figure in the subtext with some example movies.
