SOSYAL BİLGİLER DERSİ 'İPEK YOLUNDA TÜRKLER' ÜNİTESİNDEKİ KAVRAM YANILGILARI VE ÖĞRETMENLERİN ÖĞRENCİLERİN KAVRAM YANILGILARI İLE İLGİLİ FARKINDALIKLARININ TESPİTİ

Abstract

Öğrenciler ilköğretime başladıktan sonra hayatlarında ilk defa bazı kavramlarla karşılaşmaktadırlar. İlk kez karşılaşılan bu kavramların anlaşılmasında güçlük çekilmekte, bu kavramlar birbirine karıştırılabilmekte veya kavramlarla ilgili yanılgılara düşülmektedir. Sosyal bilgiler dersinde de karşılaşılan en önemli sorunlardan biri kavram yanılgılarıdır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi "İpek Yolunda Türkler" ünitesindeki kavram yanılgılarını belirlemek ve öğretmenlerin, öğrencilerin bu kavram yanılgılarıyla ilgili farkındalıklarını tespit etmektir. Bu tezin teorik kısmında sosyal bilgiler kavramı, sosyal bilgiler dersi ve tarihsel gelişimi, kavram tanımı, kavram yanılgısı ile ilgili bilgiler verilmiştir. Araştırmanın konusu ile ilgili teorik çalışma ile birlikte literatür çalışması yapılmıştır. Geçerlilik ve güvenirlik analizleri sonucunda da son şekliyle oluşturulan 16 sorudan oluşan başarı testi, ünite bitiminde uygulanmış ve ünite hedeflerine ulaşma bu test sonuçlarına göre değerlendirilmiştir. Bununla birlikte 15 sorudan oluşan anket öğretmenlere uygulanarak öğrencilerin kavram yanılgıları ile ilgili öğretmenlerin görüşü alınmıştır. Araştırmadaki veriler 2017–2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında, Diyarbakır ilinin merkez Kayapınar ilçesinde sosyoekonomik düzeyleri açısından farklılık gösteren altı ortaokulunda 375 sosyal bilgiler 6. sınıf öğrencisi ve ilçede görev yapan 58 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni ile gerçekleştirilen çalışma sonucunda elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada toplanan bilgilerin incelenmesi ve tüm istatistiksel çözümlemelerde SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 22.0 programından yararlanılmıştır. Yapılan veri analizlerinden ve istatistiksel çözümlemelerden sonra şu sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır: Öğrencilerin kavram yanılgısı başarı puanları, cinsiyet değişkenine ve sosyal bilgiler dersine yönelik tutum değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermemektedir. Öğrencilerin kitap okuma alışkanlığına göre kavram yanılgısı başarı puanları kitap okumayı sevenlerin lehine anlamlı farklılık göstermektedir. Anne eğitim durumuna ve baba eğitim durumuna, anne mesleğine ve baba mesleğine göre kavram yanılgısı başarı puanları anlamlı farklılık göstermektedir. Öğrencilerin kavram yanılgısı başarı puanı ve ders başarı notu arasında orta, pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki bulunmaktadır. Öğretmenlere uygulanan anket sonucunda öğretmenlerin, öğrencilerin sahip oldukları kavram yanılgılarının yeterince farkında olmadıkları tespit edilmiştir.

For the first time in their lives, pupils are faced with certain concepts after primary education begins. Some difficulties are encountered for the first time in understanding these concepts, these concepts are deducted to be confused or mistaken about the concept. The purpose of this research is to determine the aim of the course is to determine the misconceptions of the "Turks on Silk" unit and to identify the teachers' awareness of these misconceptions. In the theoretical part of this thesis, the concept of social information, social studies lesson and historical development, concept definition, misconception are given. literature study was conducted in conjunction with theoretical work on the subject of the study. As a result of the validity and reliability analyzes, the success test composed of the final 16 questions was applied at the end of the unit and the achievement of the unit targets was evaluated according to these test results. However, the opinions of the teachers about the misconceptions of students applying to the questionnaire consisted of 15 questions were teachers. The data in the study 375 social studies in six middle schools in the province of Diyarbakır, central Kayapınar, differing in terms of socioeconomic levels in the province of Diyarbakır during the academic year 2017-2018 were obtained as a result of the study carried out with the teacher in the 6th grade student and 58 social studies in the province. The data gathered in the research were examined and all statistical analyzes were made using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 22.0 program. After the data analysis and the statistical analysis, the following results were obtained: The misconceptions of students' achievement scores do not differ significantly from the gender variable and attitude toward social studies course. The misconceptions according to mother's education level and father's education status, mother's occupation and father's occupation showed significant difference in success scores.Misconceptions achievement scores of students between courses and medium grade, there was a significant positive correlation. As a result of the questionnaire applied to the teachers, it has been determined that the teachers are not sufficiently aware of the misconceptions of the students.
