SOSYAL BİLGİLER DERSİNDE ÖRNEK OLAY YÖNTEMİNİN KULLANIMINA YÖNELİK ÖĞRETMEN GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada yapılandırmacı yaklaşıma uygun bir şekilde planlanmış sosyal bilgiler dersinde örnek olay yöntemin öğretmenlerce değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Çalışma nitel türde olgubilimsel (fenomenolojik) desende gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışamaya Elazığ ilinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı olarak çalışan 15 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni katılmıştır. Katılımcılara 11 adet yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme sorusu yönlendirilmiş ve elde edilen bulgular tablolaştırılarak yorumlanmıştır. Çalışamaya katılan sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleri örnek olay yönteminin sosyal bilgiler dersinde kullanımının olumlu sonuçlar verdiğini özellikle iyi planlanmış ve doğru seçilmiş örnek olayların öğrencilerde birbirinden farklı ve çok sayıda beceriyi geliştirebildiğini vurgulamıştırlar. Çalışamaya katılan öğretmenler örnek olay yöntemin öğrencilerin problem çözme becerilerine katkı sağladığını aynı zamanda öğrencilerde özgüveni geliştirerek çabalama ve sonuca ulaşma gayretini artırdığımı ifade ederken örnek olay yönteminin öğrencilerin derse olan ilgisini artırdığını, analiz, muhakeme, çıkarım ve mukayese edebilme gibi becerilerini de geliştirdiğine dikkat çekmişlerdir. Aynı zamanda katılımcılar örnek olay yönteminin öğrenmeleri kalıcı hale getirdiğini, öğrencilerin aktif katılımının artığını, eğlenerek öğrenmeyi sağladığını da dile getirmişlerdir. Ayrıca örnek olay yönteminin diğer yöntem ve tekniklerle beraber kullanımına da katılımcılar sıcak bakmış ve örnek olay yönteminin diğer yöntem ve tekniklerle birlikte uygulanabilir olmasının onun uygulamada verimli ve etkili bir yöntem olmasını sağladığını belirtmişlerdir. Yapılan bu çalışma ile örnek olay yönteminin uygulayıcıları olan öğretmenler tarafından değerlendirilmesi sağlanmış ve öğretmenler yöntemin güçlü ve zayıf yanlarını belirtmişlerdir. In this study, teachers' evaluation was made of the case study method in the social studies course, which was planned in accordance with the constructivist approach. The study was carried out in qualitative type of phenomenological (phenomenological) design. Fifteen social studies teachers working under the Ministry of National Education in Elazig province participated in the study. Participants were directed to 11 semi-structured interview questions and the findings were tabulated and interpreted. Social studies teachers who participated in the study emphasized that the use of the case study method in the social studies lesson gave positive results, and that especially well-planned and correctly selected case studies could develop many different skills in students. The teachers who participated in the study stated that the case study method contributed to the problem solving skills of the students and that I also increased students 'effort and effort to reach results by improving their self-confidence, and pointed out that the case study method increased the students' interest in the lesson, and also improved their skills such as analysis, reasoning, inference and comparison. At the same time, the participants stated that the case study method made the learning permanent, the active participation of the students increased, and it enabled learning by having fun. In addition, the participants leaned towards the use of the case study method with other methods and techniques and stated that the fact that the case study method can be applied together with other methods and techniques made it an efficient and effective method in practice. With this study, it was evaluated by the teachers who are the practitioners of the case study method and the teachers stated the strengths and weaknesses of the method.
