Koku metaforları / II. Yeni şiiri

Abstract

Edebi evren, dış dünya algısının bilimsel ve sanatsal düzlemde yeniden üretildiği bir anlam alanıdır. Şiir ise fiziki algının bilişsel süreçlerle bütünleşerek estetik söyleme dönüştüğü özgün dilsel mekân sunmaktadır. Şiirin kavram dünyası, duyusal verilerin bilişsel çözümleme süzgecinden geçirilmesiyle şekillenir; bu süreçte koku, yalnızca duyusal izlenim değil; anlam kurucu güç olarak belirir. Koku, şiirde metafor aracılığıyla kavramsallaşmaktadır. Böylece somut duyu deneyimleri, soyut düşünsel alanlara aktarılır. Çünkü metaforlar, kokuyu kaynak alandan hedef alana taşıyan temel bilişsel mekanizma biçiminde şiirsel söylemin derin yapısını kurmaktadır. Bu çalışma, Türk edebiyatının özgün estetik damarlarından biri olan II. Yeni şiirinin söylem gücünden hareketle, kokunun şiirsel söylemdeki anlam işlevlerini incelemektedir. Araştırmada, şiir düzleminde belirlenen koku göstergelerin yapılanışı, psikolojik, sosyolojik, nörolojik ve dilbilimsel boyutlarıyla ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda koku; mekân/yer, özne/kişilik, kavramsal alan/sanatsal yerleşim ve zamansallık/uzamsallık başlıkları altında sınıflandırılmıştır. Böylece koku, yalnızca bir imge değil; metaforik örgütlenme sayesinde şiirin bilişsel haritasını genişleten kurucu bir unsur olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında, II. Yeni şiirinde kokunun estetik ayrıntı olmanın ötesinde, metafor aracılığıyla disiplinlerarası anlam ağının da kurucusu olduğu görülmektedir. Kokunun bu kavramsal yayılım gücü, duyusal deneyimin yeryüzü gerçekliğiyle kurduğu ilişkiye dayanmakta ve şiirsel söylemin anlam ufkunu genişletmektedir. Sonuç olarak çalışmanın amacı koku, metafor ve bilişsel algı arasındaki iletişimi kuramsal çerçevede ele alarak, II. Yeni şiirde kokunun edebi ve bilimsel işlevini ortaya koymaktadır.

The literary universe is a realm of meaning in which our perception of the external world is re-enacted on both scientific and artistic planes. Poetry, meanwhile, offers a unique linguistic space where physical perception merges with cognitive processes to transform into aesthetic discourse. The conceptual world of poetry is shaped by the cognitive analysis of sensory data; in this process, scent emerges not merely as a sensory impression, but as a meaning-constituting force. In poetry, scent is conceptualised through metaphor. Thus, concrete sensory experiences are transferred to abstract conceptual realms. This is because metaphors constitute the fundamental cognitive mechanism that carries scent from the source domain to the target domain, thereby establishing the deep structure of poetic discourse. This study examines the semantic functions of scent within poetic discourse, drawing upon the expressive power of the II. Yeni movement one of the distinctive aesthetic currents in Turkish literature. The research examines the structure of scent indicators identified within the poetic plane, addressing their psychological, sociological, neurological and linguistic dimensions. In this context, scent has been classified under the headings of space/place, subject/personality, conceptual field/artistic arrangement, and temporality/spatiality. Thus, scent is regarded not merely as an image, but as a constitutive element that expands the cognitive map of poetry through metaphorical organisation. In light of the findings, it is evident that in the poetry of the II. Yeni movement, scent serves not merely as an aesthetic detail but also as the foundation of an interdisciplinary network of meaning through metaphor. This conceptual power of scent is rooted in the relationship it establishes with the reality of the physical world and broadens the horizon of meaning within poetic discourse. Consequently, the aim of this study is to examine the interplay between scent, metaphor and cognitive perception within a theoretical framework, thereby revealing the literary and scientific function of scent in II. Yeni poetry.
