ORTAÖĞRETİM OKUL MÜDÜRLERİNİN DEĞER MERKEZLİ LİDERLİK DAVRANIŞLARINI GÖSTERME DÜZEYLERİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaöğretim okul müdürlerinin değer merkezli liderlik davranışlarını gösterme düzeylerini belirlemektir. Bu amaçla araştırmacı tarafından literatür taraması yapılarak ve uzman görüşü alınarak geliştirilen "Değer Merkezli Liderlik Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Geliştirilen ölçek Elazığ il merkezinde meslek lisesi, fen lisesi ve anadolu lisesi olmak üzere üç farklı okul türünde uygulanmıştır. Araştırma 10 meslek lisesi, 9 anadolu lisesi ve 1 fen lisesi olmak üzere toplam 20 okulda yürütülmüştür. Veriler yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, t testi, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis H Testi, LSD Testi ve Mann-Whitney U Testi teknikleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin, değer merkezli liderlik ölçeğindeki "Değerlerle etkileme", "Etik değerlere uygun davranma", "Kurumsal değerlere önem verme" ve "Mesleki değerlere önem verme" boyutlarına "Katılıyorum" düzeyinde, "Kişisel değerlere sahip olma" boyutuna ise "Kısmen katılıyorum" yönünde görüş bildirdikleri görülmektedir. Araştırma sonucunda ortaya çıkan en dikkat çekici bulgu ise kişisel değerlere sahip olma boyutuna ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerinin daha düşük düzeyde olmasıdır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin görüşleri arasında cinsiyet, branş, öğrenim düzeyi değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılık olmadığı, ancak mesleki deneyim, okul türü ve yaş değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılık olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar tartışılarak politika üretenlere, uygulayıcılara ve araştırmacılara öneriler geliştirilmiştir. The purpose of this study is to determine secondary school principals' level of value-centered leadership behaviors. For this purpose, literature review is conducted by the researcher and "Value-Centered Leadership Scale", developed on expert opinions, is used. The scale has been implemented in three different types of schools in the city centre of Elazığ: Vocational High Schools, High Schools of Science and Anatolian High Schools. The research has been conducted in 20 schools- 10 Anatolian vocational high schools, 9 Anatolian high schools and 1 Science high school. The data are analyzed using the techniques: percentage, arithmetic mean, t test, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis H test, Scheffe test and Mann-Whitney U test. Based on the findings, it's seen that the participating teachers answer with "Agree" the parts: "Affecting with values", "Ethical values and appropriate behavior", "Corporate values Concern" and "Giving importance to the professional values" and answer with "Partially agree" the part "Having personal values" in the scale of values-centered leadership. The most striking finding is the lower level of the teachers' opinions in having personal values. According to the findings obtained from the study, there isn't a significant difference in the participating teachers' views of gender, industry, education level variables. On the other hand, according to professional experience, type of school and age variables, it has reached significant differences. These results are discussed and recommendations have been developed for policy makers, practitioners and researchers.
