H.1253. M.1 TARİHLİ 03742 NUMARALI MUSUL EYALETİ, MUSUL MERKEZ KAZASI NÜFUS DEFTERİNİN TRANSKRİPSİYON VE DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Osmanlı Devleti, kuruluşundan itibaren nüfusu kayıt altına almıştır. Bir bölgenin fethinin ardından gelir kaynaklarını tespit etmek için tahrir yapılmış ve nüfus belirlenmiştir. Duraklama dönemine gelindiğinde iç isyanlar nedeniyle tahrirler aksamıştır. Osmanlı Devleti, 1826'da Vaka-i Hayriye Olayı ile Yeniçeri Ocağı'nı kaldırmış ve Asakir-i Mansure-i Muhammediyye ordusunu kurmuştur. Yurttaşlar Ordusu'nun başlangıcını oluşturan bu ordu için gerekli olan erkek nüfusu belirlemek amacıyla Osmanlı'nın erkek nüfusu sayılmaya başlanmıştır. Bu amaçla ilk modern sayım 1828-1829 yıllarında uygulanmak istenmiş ancak Osmanlı-Rus Harbi nedeniyle kesintiye uğramıştır. Savaşın sona ermesinin ardından 1830-31 yılları arasında sayımlar yeniden başlatılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı da 03742 numaralı Musul nüfus defterinin incelenmesi ve elde edilen bilgilerin kullanılmasıdır.

The Ottoman Empire recorded its population since its establishment. After the conquest of a region, a census was made to determine the sources of income and the population was determined. During the stagnation period, the censuses were disrupted due to internal rebellions. The Ottoman Empire abolished the Janissary Corps with the Auspicious Event in 1826 and established the Asakir-i Mansure-i Muhammediyye army. In order to determine the male population required for this army, which was the beginning of the Citizens' Army, the male population of the Ottoman Empire was counted. For this purpose, the first modern census was planned to be carried out in 1828-1829, but was interrupted due to the Ottoman-Russian War. After the end of the war, censuses were restarted in 1830-31. The aim of this study is to examine the Mosul population book number 03742 and use the information obtained.
