Sait Faik Abasıyanık’ın Sinağrit Baba Adlı Öyküsünün Eleştirel Söylem Çözümlemesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Sait Faik Abasıyanık’ın Sinağrit Baba adlı öyküsünün eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi yöntemiyle incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Döneminin toplumsal sorunlarını kendine has bir üslupla öyküleştiren Sait Faik bunu yaparken aynı zamanda okuyucusuna sorgulayıcı ve eleştirel bir anlatımla sembolleştirdiği karakterler üzerinden de mesajlar vermektedir. Bu anlamda türünün yetkin bir örneği olan özellikle eleştirel bakışa dair sunduğu eşsiz içerikle tam da eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi yöntemiyle ele alınıp değerlendirilmesi gereken Sinağrit Baba adlı öykünün, çağdaş ve çok yönlü incelemelere olanak tanıyan söylem çözümleme yöntemiyle ele alınmamış olması bu çalışmanın üretilmesi ihtiyacını doğurmuştur. Bu amaçla nitel bir araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan doküman incelemesi yöntemiyle öyküden elde edilen söylem verileri Van Dijk’ın eleştirel söylem modeli çerçevesinde mikro ve makro yapı başlıkları altında çözümlenerek incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda söz konusu öykünün karakterlerin zıtlıkları üzerinden sembolik bir anlatımla toplumsal sorunlar odağında bir eleştiri getirdiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Eserde özellikle sorgulanmadan yaşanılan hayatlar, yozlaşma, bireysellikten toplumsallığa yani kolektif bilince sahip olmayan toplumlar öykünün merkezine yerleştirilen başat sorunları oluşturmaktadır. Anlatının ideolojik söyleminin çözümlendiği bu çalışmada, öykünün mikro ve makro düzeydeki yapılarıyla sahip olunan ideolojik bakışın başarılı bir şekilde yansıtıldığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

This study aims to analyze Sait Faik Abasıyanık’s short story Sinağrit Baba through the method of critical discourse analysis. While narrating the social problems of his time in a distinctive literary style, Sait Faik also conveys messages to the reader through characters symbolized by a questioning and critical narrative voice. In this sense, Sinağrit Baba, which constitutes a competent example of its genre and offers a unique content particularly in terms of critical perspective, deserves to be examined through the method of critical discourse analysis. The absence of prior studies addressing this short story through discourse analysis -a contemporary and multidimensional analytical approach- has constituted the motivation for conducting this research. For this purpose, discourse data obtained from the short story were examined using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, and analyzed within the framework of Van Dijk’s critical discourse model under the headings of macro and micro structures. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the story presents a critique of social problems through a symbolic narrative based on contrasts between characters. In particular, unexamined lives, moral degeneration, and societies lacking collective consciousness -shifting from individualism to social awareness- emerge as the central issues of the narrative. This study, which analyzes the ideological discourse of the story, concludes that the ideological perspective is successfully reflected through both its macro and micro level structures. Based on the findings, several recommendations are proposed.
