PROJE TABANLI ÖĞRENME YAKLAŞIMI İLE DESTEKLENMİŞ FEN EĞİTİMİNİN 6. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN AKADEMİK BAŞARISINA VE FEN DERSİNE KARŞI TUTUMUNA ETKİSİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; proje tabanlı öğrenme yaklaşımıyla desteklenmiş fen eğitiminin 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin başarısına ve fen dersine karşı tutumuna etkisini araştırmaktır. Bu araştırma Muş İli Merkez ilçesinde bulunan Prof. Dr. Vahit Özmen Ortaokulu'nda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma deney ve kontrol grubu olarak iki sınıfta gerçekleştirildi. Bu araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi uygulanmış ve araştırma modeli olarakta ön-test son-test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, deney grubuna proje tabanlı öğrenme yaklaşımı ile desteklenmiş fen eğitimi uygulanırken, kontrol grubu öğrencilerine mevcut öğretim programına uygun olarak ders işlenmiştir. Veri toplama araçları olarak "Vücudumuzdaki Sistemler ve Sistemlerin Sağlığı Başarı Testi" ve "Fen ve Teknoloji Tutum Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca deney grubu öğrencierine ders etkinlikleri için proje tabanlı öğrenme yaklaşımı ile ilgili formlar verilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda her iki grubun uygulanan başarı testinden almış oldukları puanların arttığı, ancak proje tabanlı öğrenme yaklaşımının uygulandığı deney grubunun lehine anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülmüştür. Fen bilimleri dersine yönelik tutum açısından iki grup arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmekle birlikte, deney grubunda tutum puanlarında küçük bir artış olurken kontrol grubunda az miktarda azalma görülmüştür. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of science education supported with project based learning approach on 6th grade students' success and attitude towards science course. This research has been implemented in Dr. Vahit Özmen Secondary School where is located in the central district of Muş Province. This work was performed in two class as experimental and control group. In this research, quantitative research method was applied and experimental design with pre-test post-test control group was used as research model. In this study, while science education supported with project based learning approach was applied to experimental group, control group students were taught in accordance with current curriculum. As data collection tools, "Systems in Our Body and Health of These Systems" Achievement Test and "Science and Technology Attitude Scale" were used. Besides, forms relating with project based learning approach were given to experimental group students for course activities. As a result of the study, it was seen that the scores of both groups obtained from the achievement test increased, but there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group in which the project based learning approach was applied. Although there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of attitude towards science course, it was seen that there was a small increase in attitude scores in the experimental group and a slight decrease in the control group.
