ÇANAKKALE CEPHESİ'NDE ASKERİ NAKLİYE HİZMETLERİ: BEŞİNCİ ORDU MENZİL TEŞKİLATI

Abstract

Birinci Dünya Savaşının kaderini belirleyen cephelerin başında hiç şüphesiz Çanakkale Cephesi gelmektedir. Dünya tarihinde kara, deniz ve hava savaşlarının yaşandığı ender cephelerden biri olan Çanakkale Cephesi; sonuçları itibariyle de Türk ve dünya tarihine yön vermiştir. Bu cephenin zaferle sonuçlanmasında muharip üstün mücadelesinin yanı sıra, zamanın icaplarına göre başarılı şekilde yürütülen geri hizmetlerinin etkisi büyüktür. Nitekim tarih boyunca kazanılan büyük zaferlerde, alınan isabetli kararlar, uygulanan mükemmel harek?t planlarının yanı sıra muharip orduların her türlü lojistik faaliyetlerini eksiksiz yerine getirilmesiyle mümkün olmuştur. Çanakkale Cephesi'nde, muharip ordunun geri hizmet faaliyetlerinin sistemli bir şekilde yürütülmesi sağlamak amacıyla 5'inci Ordu Menzil Teşkilatı ihdas edildi. Bu teşkilat sayesinde ordunun insan kaynakları ve ordunun muharebe gücünü arttıran her türlü lojistik malzeme kısa sürede en uçtaki siperlere kadar noksansız olarak ulaştırıldı. Geri hizmetlerin başarılı şekilde yürütülmesi cephedeki ordunun harp kabiliyetini artırmış ve cephenin zaferle sonuçlanmasına büyük katkısı olmuştur. Bu çalışma, Türk ordusunun muharip gücünü teşkil eden 5'inci Ordu'nun lojistik faaliyetlerini yürüten 5'inci Ordu Menzil Müfettişliğinin kuruluş amacını, görev ve fonksiyonları ayrıntılı olarak incelemiştir. Böylece ordunun lojistik hizmetlerini yürüten menzil teşkilatının, harbin gidişatı üzerindeki rolü ve etkisi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.

There is no doubt that the Dardanelles Battlefront was among the leading battlefront determining the fate of The First World War. Ground, maritime and aerial warfare took place as part of the Dardanelles Battlefront, and their outcomes shaped the future of both Turkish and World history. The Ottoman support services which were successfully provided under the circumstances of that time played a major role in securing victory in this battlefront alongside with the outstanding actions of the combatants. Indeed, all great military victories in history have been attained by fulfilling the various logistical needs of combatant, army completely besides making the making the right decisions, and the application of excellent operational planning. The 5th military post organization was established to systematically sustain support-service activities of the combatant army on the Dardanelles Battlefront. Thanks to this organization, all types of logistic equipment to improve the army's human resources and the power of war were fully transported to the furthest ramparts. The successful provision of these support services increased the combative effectiveness of the army and contributed to the victory of the war. This study examines the reasons behind the establishment of the 5th Army Post Inspectorship, as well as its functions, duties and logistical activities as a combatant force within the Turkish army. This paper will attempt to examine and assess the role played by the 5th army in conducting logistical services in regard to the Turkish forces and the impact it had on the outcome of the First World War.
