MADDE VE DOĞASI ÖĞRENME ALANI KAPSAMINDA YAPILAN DENEYSEL ARAŞTIRMALARIN ÖĞRENCİ BAŞARISINA, TUTUMA VE KALICILIĞA ETKİSİ İLE İLGİLİ ÇALIŞMALARIN META ANALİZİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, Madde ve Doğası öğrenme alanı kapsamında yapılan deneysel araştırmaların öğrencilerin başarısına, kalıcılığa ve fen dersine yönelik tutumuna etkisi ve etki büyüklükleri incelenmeye amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma 2005-2022 yılları arasında yapılmış yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinin meta analiz yöntemiyle incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Meta-analize dahil edilen çalışmalar deney ve kontrol grubu içeren çalışmalardır. Araştırmada akademik başarı için 94, tutum için 34, kalıcılık için 15 çalışma yer almaktadır. Araştırmada İşlem Etkililiği meta-analizi kullanılmış ve veriler Hedges's g ye göre hesaplanmıştır. Analiz aşamasında CMAV.3, Excel.2010 ve SPSS.22 programları kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Fen eğitiminde Madde ve Doğası konusu ile yapılan çalışmaların etki büyüklükleri hesaplanmıştır. Akademik başarı için etki büyüklüğü 0,778, tutum için etki büyüklüğü 0,453, kalıcılık için ise 0,813 olarak bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre yapılan çalışmaların akademik başarı üzerinde anlamlı ve orta düzeyde, tutum üzerinde fakat küçük düzeyde, kalıcılık üzerinde ise anlamlı ve büyük düzeyde bir etkiye sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the effects and effect sizes of experimental research conducted within the scope of the learning field of Matter and its Nature on students' success, retention and attitude towards science lesson. The aim of the study is to examine the master's and doctoral theses made between 2005-2022 by meta-analysis method. The studies included in the meta-analysis are studies with experimental and control groups. There are 94 studies for academic success, 34 studies for attitude, and 15 studies for permanence in the research. Transaction Efficiency meta-analysis was used in the study and data were calculated according to Hedges's g. CMAV.3, Excel.2010 and SPSS.22 programs were used in the analysis phase. As a result of the research, the effect sizes of the studies on the subject of matter and its nature in science education were calculated. The effect size was found to be 0.778 for academic achievement, 0.453 for attitude and 0.813 for permanence. According to the results obtained, it was determined that the studies carried out had a significant and moderate effect on academic achievement, a small but significant effect on attitude, and a significant and large effect on permanence.
