FEN VE TEKNOLOJİ İLE SINIF ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ TEKNOLOJİNİN DOĞASINA YÖNELİK GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada fen ve teknoloji ile sınıf öğretmenliği adaylarının teknolojinin doğası hakkında teknoloji, teknolojinin sosyal yapısı, teknoloji ile bilim arasındaki ilişki ve teknoloji ile toplum arasındaki ilişki konularında görüşleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmaya Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinde okuyan fen bilgisi ve sınıf öğretmen adayları katılmıştır. Teknolojinin doğası hakkındaki görüşleri belirlemek için Aikenhead, Fleming ve Ryan (1989) tarafından geliştirilen ?Teknolojinin Doğası Hakkında Görüşler? (VOSTS) anketi kullanılmıştır. Teknoloji (2 soru), teknoloji ile bilim arasındaki ilişki (4 soru), teknoloji ile toplum arasındaki ilişki (8 soru) ve teknolojinin sosyal yapısı (3 soru) konularını içeren 17 soru bu araştırma için seçilerek Türkçeye adapte edilmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının teknolojinin doğası hakkındaki görüşlerini daha detaylı incelemek için 12 fen bilgisi, 8 sınıf öğretmen adaylarııyla görüşmeler yapılmıştır.Çalışmanın sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının teknolojinin doğası konusunda kavram yanılgılarına sahip oldukları bulunmuştur. Öğretmen adayları teknolojinin tanımı konusunda kabul edilebilir görüşe sahip iken, toplumun teknoloji üzerine etkisi konusunda gerçekçi görüşe sahip oldukları görülmektedir. Öğretmen adayları bilim ile teknoloji arasındaki ilişki konusunda bazı özellikler bakımından yetersiz bakış açısına sahip oldukları, teknolojinin bilimden bağımsız olarak ilerleyebildiğini bilmedikleri görülmüştür.Öğretmen adaylarının teknolojinin sosyal yapısında yetersiz görüşe sahip oldukları görülmekteyken fakat 4.sınıf öğretmen adaylarının daha gerçekçi görüş bildirdiği görülmüştür.Öğretmen adaylarının bölümlerine göre verdikleri cevapların ki-kare analizinde 4.sınıf fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının teknoloji, teknoloji ile bilim arasındaki ilişki, teknolojinin toplum üzerine etkisi konularında diğer fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarına göre daha gerçekçi bakış açısına sahip oldukları görülmektedir. 4.sınıf sınıf öğretmen adayları teknoloji ile bilim arasındaki ilişki ve teknolojinin toplum üzerine etkisi konularında 3.sınıf sınıf öğretmen adaylarına göre daha gerçekçi görüşteyken, 3.sınıf sınıf öğretmen adayları ARGE için teknolojinin önemi konusunda daha gerçekçi görüşte oldukları görülmektedir. 3.sınıf fen bilgisi öğretmen adayları teknoloji tanımı ve teknolojinin toplum üzerindeki etkisi konularında 3.sınıf sınıf öğretmen adaylarına göre daha gerçekçi görüşteyken, 3.sınıf sınıf öğretmen adayları ARGE için teknolojinin önemi, toplumun teknoloji üzerine etkisi ve teknolojinin sosyal yapısı konularında 3.sınıf fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarına göre daha gerçekçi görüşte oldukları görülmektedir. 4.sınıf fen bilgisi öğretmen adayları teknolojinin tanımı ve teknolojinin sosyal yapısı konularında 4.sınıf sınıf öğretmen adaylarına göre daha gerçekçi görüşte oldukları görülmektedir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Teknolojinin doğası hakkında görüşler, Fen ve Teknoloji Öğretmen Adayları, Sınıf Öğretmen Adayları, Kavram Yanılgıları, Bilim, Teknoloji, ToplumThe aim of this study is to determine the views of pre-service science teachers and pre-service classroom teachers about nature of technology, the relationship between technology and science, the relationship between technology and society, and social construction of technology. Pre-service science and technology, and classroom teachers have been joined in this research. In order to determine the pre-service teachers? views about the nature of technology ?Views on Science-Technology-Society (VOSTS) which was designed by Aikenhead, Fleming and Ryan (1989) instrument was used. Seventeen questions which are about technology (two questions), the relationship between technology and science (four questions), the relationship between technology and society (eight questions), and the social construction of technology (three questions) has been selected form VOSTS and adopted to the Turkish. 20 interviews have been done (12 from pre-service science teachers and 8 pre-service classroom teachers) in order to reveal participants? views on nature of technology in depth,At the end of the research, it has been reached that pre-service teachers have misconceptions about the nature of technology. Although the pre-service teachers have acceptable views about definition of technology, this pre-service teachers have realistic views about influence of society on technology. However, the pre-service teachers have inadequate views about relationship between technology and science, because the pre-service teachers not know the technology advancing as independent from science. The pre-service teachers have traditional views about social of technology but 4th class pre-service teachers have more realistic views that topic.In the analysis of the chi-square test according to pre-service teachers? answers, 4th class pre-service science teachers have more realistic views on technology, relationship between technology and science, influence of technology on society than other pre-service science teachers. 4th class pre-service classroom teachers have more realistic views on relationship between technology and science, influence of technology on society than other pre-service classroom teachers. 3rd class pre-service classroom teachers have more realistic views on important of technology for research and development than other pre-service classroom teachers. 3rd class pre-service science and technology teachers have more realistic views on definition of technology, influence of technology on society than 3rd class pre-service classroom teachers. 3rd class pre-service classroom teachers have more realistic opinion on influence of society on technology, social construction of technology, important of technology for research and development than 3rd pre-service science teachers. 4th class pre-service science teachers have more realistic views on definition of technology, social construction of technology than 4th class pre-service classroom teachers.Keywords: Views on nature of science, Pre-service Science and Technology Teachers, Pre-service Classroom Teachers, Misconception, Science, Technology, Society.
