Examining Outsourcing In Terms Of Cost Minimization: An Example Of Laundry Services In A Medical Institution

Abstract

This work is carried out in a Public Hospital in Kayseri province. The relevant data were obtained as a result of interviews with the laundry unit that constitutes the subject of the study and other units interacting with this unit. The aim of the study is to evaluate the cost of the laundry services, which are outside the main activity of the hospital and which are included in the auxiliary services, in terms of cost minimization if they are carried out using outsourcing method at the same time as the hospital's own facilities. With the data obtained from the comparison result made through this method, the question of whether it would be right to carry out laundry services in terms of cost, outsourcing or with their own means was sought.. In this context, it was determined that the cost of the hospital's service related to its structure was TL 857.758,39 excluding VAT. In case of service fulfillment related to outsourcing method, it was revealed that it was TL 255,029.08 excluding VAT As a result, outsourcing was highly effective and efficient in terms of cost, and the answer to the question was outsourcing.

Bu çalışma Kayseri ilinde faaliyet gösteren bir Kamu Hastanesinde gerçekleştirilmektedir. İlgili verilere, çalışmanın konusunu teşkil eden çamaşırhane birimi ve bu birimle etkileşimde bulunan diğer birimler ile yapılan görüşmeler neticesinde elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı ise hastanenin ana faaliyet konusu dışında olan ve yardımcı hizmetler içerisinde yer alan çamaşırhane hizmetlerinin, hastanenin kendi imkânları ile gerçekleştirilmesiyle aynı zamanda dış kaynak kullanım yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmesi halinde oluşan maliyeti, maliyet minimizasyonu açısından değerlendirmektir. Bu yöntem vasıtasıyla yapılan karşılaştırma sonucundan elde edilen veriler ile çamaşırhane hizmetlerini yürütme tercihini maliyet açısından, dış kaynak kullanımı ile mi yoksa kendi imkânlarıyla mı yürütmesinin doğru olacağı sorusuna cevap aranmıştır. Bu kapsamda hastanenin kendi bünyesi ile ilgili hizmeti ifa etmesi durumunda maliyetinin KDV hariç 857.758,39 TL olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dış kaynak kullanım yöntemi ile ilgili hizmet yerine getirilmesi durumda KDV hariç 255.029,08 TL olduğu ortaya çıkartılmıştır Sonuç olarak dış kaynak kullanımının maliyet açısından oldukça büyük derece etkin ve verimli olduğu ve sorunun cevabının ise dış kaynak kullanımı olduğu ortaya çıkartılmıştır.
