ATLETİZM SPORU İLE UĞRAŞAN ORTAOKUL ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN ATLETİZM BRANŞINA YÖNELME NEDENLERİ VE BEKLENTİLERİ (ELAZIĞ VE BİNGÖL İLİ ÖRNEĞİ)

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, atletizm sporu ile uğraşan ortaokul öğrencilerinin bu branşa yönelme nedenleri ve beklentilerini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Elazığ ve Bingöl ilinde atletizm sporu yapan ortaokul öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada 'Türk Sporcularının Spordan Beklentileri ve Spora Yönelten Unsurlar' ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Anket için ölçütleri karşılayan 271 adet ortaokul öğrencisi tesadüfi örneklem yöntemi ile seçilmiştir. Araştırma verilerinin değerlendirilmesinde istatistiksel analiz programı kullanılmış olup frekans ve yüzdelik dağılımlarına yer verilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan bireylerin %45.8'i kadın sporcular, %54.2'si ise erkek sporcular oluşturmaktadır. Yine çalışma kapsamındaki sporcuların %77.5'i bir kulübe sahipken %22.5'i herhangi bir kulüpte bulunmamaktadır. Sonuç olarak, çalışmaya katılan ortaokul öğrencilerinin cinsiyet değişkenine bakıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı, ancak erkeklerin puan ortalamalarının fazla olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Bununla birlikte çalışma kapsamında elde edilen veriler, katılımcıların spor kulübünde sporcu olma durumlarına bağlı olarak anlamlı düzeyde farklılaştığını göstermektedir. Ayrıca katılan bireylerin sınıf düzeyleri değişkeni açısından yapılan analizler, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmadığı saptanmıştır. Elde ettiğimiz sonuçlar doğrultusunda özellikle kulüp sporcularında yönelmenin diğerlerine göre daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Anahtar Kelimeler: Atletizm, Beklenti, Spor, Ortaokul

The purpose of this study is to determine the reasons why middle school students who participate in athletics choose this sport and their expectations. The population of the study consists of middle school students who participate in athletics in the provinces of Elazığ and Bingöl. The scale "Turkish Athletes' Expectations from Sports and Factors Motivating Them to Participate in Sports" was used in the study. A total of 271 middle school students who met the criteria for the survey were selected using a random sampling method. Statistical analysis software was used to evaluate the research data, and frequency and percentage distributions were included. Of the individuals participating in the study, 45.8% were female athletes and 54.2% were male athletes. Furthermore, 77.5% of the athletes included in the study belonged to a club, while 22.5% did not belong to any club. In conclusion, when examining the gender variable among middle school students participating in the study, no statistically significant difference was found, although boys had higher average scores. However, the data obtained within the scope of the study shows that there are significant differences depending on whether the participants are athletes in a sports club. Furthermore, analyses conducted based on the participants' grade level variable revealed no statistically significant differences. In line with our findings, it was observed that orientation was higher among club athletes than among others. Keywords: Athletics, Expectation, Sports, Middle School
