Bir somut olmayan kültürel miras olarak Elazığ Kürsübaşı sohbetlerinin popüler kültür bağlamında incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, UNESCO Somut Olmayan Kültürel Miras Listesi'nde yer alan Elazığ Kürsübaşı sohbetlerinin toplumsal bellek ve popüler kültür etkileşimi çerçevesinde geçirdiği dönüşümü incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Geleneksel bağlamda bir ısınma ihtiyacından doğan bu pratiğin günümüzdeki "sahne temsiline" dönüşme süreci iletişim bilimleri perspektifiyle ele alınmıştır. Etnografik desenin benimsendiği araştırmada veriler; 10 kaynak kişiyle yapılan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler, katılımcı gözlem ve dijital arşiv taraması yoluyla toplanmıştır. Bulgular, Kürsübaşı'nın tarihsel süreçte Harput'un iklim şartlarına bağlı fiziksel bir ihtiyaçtan "sosyal ısınma" sağlayan informal bir eğitim modeline dönüştüğünü göstermektedir. Ayrıca yerel bellekte aile içi mahremiyeti temsil eden "Kürsübaşı" kavramı ile müzikli eğlenceyi ifade eden "Püsün" arasında, popüler kültürün tek tipleştirici etkisiyle bir kavramsal çatışmanın oluştuğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda üretilen temel düşünce; ısınma teknolojilerindeki gelişimle mahrem alandan kamusal sahneye taşınan geleneğin, özgün etkileşim yapısını yitirerek nostalji üzerinden tüketilen kurgusal bir performans nesnesine dönüştüğünü göstermektedir. Dijital mecralar ise geleneği asıl bağlamından koparıp standartlaştırılmış bir görsel imgeye dönüştürmekte; aktif toplumsal paylaşımı pasif bir seyirlik gösteriye indirgeyerek, izlemeye dayalı bir deneyime dönüşmesinde etkili olmaktadır.

This study aims to examine the transformation of the Elazığ Kürsübaşı conversations listed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity within the framework of the interaction between social memory and popular culture. The process by which this practice, which originated from a need for social interaction in a traditional context, has evolved into a contemporary "stage performance" is analyzed from the perspective of communication studies. Adopting an ethnographic design, the study collected data through semi structured interviews with 10 informants, participant observation, and a review of digital archives. The findings indicate that Kürsübaşı has evolved over time from a physical necessity tied to Harput's climatic conditions into an informal educational model that provides "social warmth." Additionally, it was determined that a conceptual conflict has emerged between the concept of "Kürsübaşı," which represents family privacy in local memory, and "Püsün," which signifies musical entertainment, due to the homogenizing influence of popular culture. The central finding of the research is that, with the development of heating technologies, the tradition transferred from the private sphere to the public stage has lost its original interactive structure and transformed into a fictional performance object consumed through nostalgia. Digital platforms, on the other hand, sever tradition from its original context and transform it into a standardized visual image; by reducing active social sharing to a passive spectacle, they play a key role in transforming it into an experience centered on viewing.
