Ortaokul 8. Sınıflarda Geometrik Cisimlerin Alan ve Hacimlerinin Öğretiminde Cabri 3D Yazılımı Kullanımının Öğrenci Başarısına ve Tutumuna Etkisi*

Abstract

Geometride görsellik oldukça önemlidir. Görselliği ön planda tutarak öğretimin yapılması öğrenciyi pozitif bir biçimde etkileyecektir. Geometrik cisimler uzamsal düşünce gerektirdiğinden öğrenciler bu konuları anlamakta güçlük çekmektedirler. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul 8. sınıfta geometrik cisimlerin alan ve hacimlerinin öğretiminde Cabri 3D yazılımının öğrenci başarısına ve tutumuna etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışma, Elazığ ili Maden ilçesinde bulunan bir ortaokulda öğrenim gören toplam 38 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisi ile yapılmıştır. Cabri paket programının etkililiği ön test, son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel modele göre belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda ortaokul sekizinci sınıf matematik dersinde yer alan “Geometrik Cisimleri Alan ve Hacimleri” konularının öğretiminde deney grubuna Cabri 3D ile öğretimin kontrol grubunda uygulanan mevcut programla öğretime göre öğrencilerin matematik başarısını artırmada etkili olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

Visuals are essential for geometry. Teaching geometry based on visuals will influence learners positively. They often have difficulty in understanding geometry since it requires spatial thinking. In this sense, the aim of the study is to research the effect of teaching 8th grade students the area and volume of geometric objects with Cabri 3D software. The study was conducted with 38 8th grade students from a middle school in Maden, Elazığ. The effectiveness of the Cabri 3D software was determined according to pre-test, post-test, quasi-experimental model with control group. As the result of the study it was concluded that teaching “The Area and Volume of Geometric Objects” with Cabri 3D was effective for the experimental group, compared to the conventional teaching methods carried out for the control group.
