SANATTA NARKİSSOS ÖYKÜSÜNÜN TEMSİLİ VE SALVADOR DALİ’DE NARKİSSOS METAMORFOZU

Abstract

Yunan mitolojisinde yer alan Narkissos hikayesi M.S. 1. Yüzyıl’da edebiyat alanında ele alınmıştır. M.S. 8. Yüzyıl’da şair Ovidius tarafından yeniden yazılmış olan Narkissos hikâyesi bir çok sanatçının ilgisini çekmiş ve onlara ilham kaynağı olmuştur. Narkissos öyküsü 20. Yüzyıl’a kadar sanatçılar tarafından suda kendini seyre dalan yakışıklı ve güzel bir delikanlı olarak resmedilmiştir. Modernizme kadar yapılan bu resimler cezbedici güzelliğiyle hikâyede anlatılan Narkissos’u temsil eder. Modern dönemde Salvador Dali Ovidius’un yazdığı hikayeden hareketle Narkissos öyküsünü sürrealist bir anlatımla ele alır. Dali’nin yapmış olduğu “Narkissos’un Metamorfozu” adlı eser Narkissos’un çekici güzelliğini temsili bir betimlemeyle yansıtmaz. Sanatçı eserini gerçeküstücü bir anlayışla yapmış ve sembolik öğelere de yer vermiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Narkissos hikayesini ele alan ressamların konuyu temsil etme biçimleri üzerinde tespitler yaparak Salvador Dali’nin “Narkissos’un Metamorfozu” adlı eserinin önceki ressamların çalıştığı Narkissos temalı resimlerden farkının ne olduğunu ele almaktır. Bu araştırmada betimsel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında Narkissos öyküsünü çalışan sanatçılar belirlenmiştir. Araştırmaya konu olan hikayenin temsilleri üzerine incelemeler yapılmıştır.

The story of Narcissus in Greek mythology A.D. discussed in the field of literature in the 1st century. The story of Narcissus, A.D. rewritten by the poet Ovid in the 8th century, attracted the attention of many artists and became a source of inspiration for them. The story of Narcissus was portrayed by artists until the 20th century as a handsome and beautiful young man contemplating himself in the water. These paintings made until modernism represent Narcissus of described in the story with her alluring beauty. In the modern period, Salvador Dali deals with the Narcissus story with a surrealist narrative, based on the story written by Ovid. The work called "Metamorphosis of Narcissus" by Dali does not reflect the attractive beauty of Narcissus with a representative description. The artist created her work with a surrealist approach and included symbolic elements. The aim of this study is to examine the difference between Salvador Dali's work "The Metamorphosis of Narcissus" and the Narcissus-themed paintings that previous painters worked on, by making determinations on the way the painters who deal with the Narcissus story represent the subject. Descriptive research method was used in this research. Within the scope of the research, artists working on the Narcissus story were determined. Examinations were made on the representations of the story that is the subject of the research.
