RELIGION IN THE NORTH OF THE BLACK SEA IN THE MIDDLE AGE

Abstract

There was Buddhism and Christianity in the opposite of Islam among the Turks in this period. Various tribes such as Kipchak, Pechenek, Mongol, Russian, Khazar were settled in the North of the Black Sea, other than Muslim cultures. They were influenced by other beliefs such as Christianity, Buddhism and paganism. Therefore, along with the efficiency of Christianity in the North of the Black Sea after the pagan beliefs of these tribes; The Christian church played an important role in medieval Russia as it did in the medieval western world upon the spiritual life of the nations. So, after the victory of Islam in the Golden Horde State, there was little reason for a direct Mongol influence on the religious area in Russia. But the Mongol conquest indirectly affected the development of the Russian church and its spiritual life in various forms. Therefore, the city of Kiev, which is the metropolitan office of the Russian church, was destroyed and could not serve. Actually, in this study, we tried to examine the influences of the religious beliefs that emerged in the Middle ages on the north of the Black Sea or that existed in that region on the persons or states and the social reflections of these effects.

Türkler arasında bu dönemde İslamiyet’in karşısında Budhizm ve Hıristiyanlık vardı. Karadeniz’in Kuzeyindeki Kıpçak, Peçenek, Moğol, Rus, Hazar gibi çeşitli kavimler, Müslüman kültürlerinden başka Hıristiyanlık, Budizm, Putperestlik gibi başka inançların etkisi altına girmişlerdi. Dolayısıyla bu kavimlerin putperestlik inançları sonrasında, Karadeniz’in Kuzeyinde Hıristiyanlığın etkinlik kazanmasıyla da birlikte, Hıristiyan kilisesi, ortaçağ Rusya’sında milletlerin manevi hayatında ortaçağ batı dünyasında olduğu gibi önemli bir rol oynuyordu. Bu yüzden özellikle İslamiyet’in Altın Ordu’daki zaferinden sonra Rusya’ya dini alanda doğrudan bir Moğol etkisi için pek sebep kalmadı. Fakat Moğol fethi dolaylı olarak Rus kilisesinin ve manevi hayatının gelişme seyrini çeşitli şekillerde etkiledi. Bundan dolayı Rus kilisesinin metropolitlik makamı olan Kiev şehri tahrip edilerek hizmet verecek bir durumu kalmadı. Nitekim bizde bu çalışmamızda Ortaçağ’da Karadeniz’in kuzeyinde ortaya çıkan ya da o bölge de var olan dini inançların kişiler ya da devletler üzerindeki etkilerini ve bu etkilerin toplumsal yansımalarını incelemeye çalıştık.
