| dc.description.abstract | In this study, the thermo-physics properties of jet streams at different temperatures within a confined channel were investigated experimentally and numerically. An experimental setup was constructed for the experimental part of the work and the numerical part was modeled using the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulence model. Water was used as working fluid in the experiment. A parallel twin-jet positioned to supply the fluid to the channel. Single and double row cylindrical obstacles are placed in the channel as perpendicular to the flow direction. The analyses were performed for six different boundary conditions, functioning as temperature difference and momentum ratio between jets. Obtained results indicate that as the temperature difference and the flow rate between the jets increases, the thermal mixing improves along the channel. Using the sequential obstacles increases the efficiency of thermal mixing in the channel and the best mixing performance is observed at single row obstacle case. | |
