WEB MADENCİLİĞİ ENTEGRE EDİLMİŞ SEMANTİK WEB TABANLI ÖĞRENME ORTAMLARININ ÖĞRENCİ AKADEMİK BAŞARI VE TUTUMLARINA ETKİSİ

Abstract

İnternet eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerinde, akıllı (sanal) sınıflar, uzaktan eğitim, öğrenme yönetim sistemleri (ÖYS), e-portfolyo, bilgisayar destekli eğitim gibi birçok farklı uygulamayla kullanılmaktadır. Son dönemde ülkemizde uzaktan eğitim faaliyetlerinin arttığı ve ÖYS kullanımının yaygınlaştığı görülmektedir. Bu nedenle araştırmada ÖYS üzerine odaklanılmış ve güncel web teknolojilerini kullanan, Web 2.0 standartlarına uygun WSLMS (Web Mining & Semantic Learning Management System) isimli bir yazılım geliştirilmiştir.WSLMS forumlar, site içi kullanıcılar arası mesajlaşma, dosyalama işlemleri, eşzamanlı sohbet, çevrimiçi not tutma, duyuru/haber modülleri, beyaz tahta uygulamaları, video konferans desteği, galeriler, takvim ve süreç izleme, blog tutma, sosyal ağlar kurma, kişiselleştirme, yetkilendirme, grup çalışmaları, üye izleme, sınav yönetimi ve SMS servisleri gibi iletişim ve etkileşim araçlarına sahiptir. WSLMS'yi diğer ÖYS'lerden ayıran en temel özelliği Kolb'un deneyimsel öğrenme kuramını referans alarak çalışması ve kullanıcıların öğrenme stillerini belirleyerek kullanıcıları öğrenme stillerine uygun içerik ve faaliyetlere yönlendirmesidir. Sistem, 2010-2011 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı içinde Bitlis Eren Üniversitesinde kullanılmıştır ve sistemin öğrencilerin akademik başarı ve tutumlarına etkisi araştırılımıştır.

Internet education-teaching activities includes several different applications such as intelligent (virtual) classrooms, distant education, learning management systems (LMS), e-portfolio, computer aided education. Recently, it is observable that distant education activities increased and use of LMS became widespread in Turkey. Therefore, this research focused on LMSs and a software, called WSLMS (Web Mining & Semantic Learning Management System) was developed. WSLMS utilize up-to-date web technologies and complies with Web 2.0 standards.WSLMS is equipped with communication and interaction tools such as forums, messaging between site users, filing operations, instant chat, online note taking, announcement/new modules, white board applications, video conference support, galleries, calendar and process follow-up, blogging, establishing social networks, personalization, authorization, group activities, member monitoring, online exam management, SMS services. WSLMS is distinguished from other LMSs by that it is based on Kolb's experiential learning theory and it directs users to contents and activities according to their own learning style by determining their learning styles. The system was used at Bitlis Eren University during 2010-2011 academic year and the effect of the system on academic success and behaviour of the students was studies.
