CLAUDE CAHEN VE ESERLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR İNCELEME (1909-1991)

Abstract

Bu çalışma Ortaçağ İslam Tarihi ve Selçuklu tarihi üzerine çok kapsamlı araştırmalar yapan Claude Cahen'in, eserlerinin ve makalelerinin tanıtımıdır. Özellikle ülkemizde İslam Tarihi, Büyük Selçuklular ve Anadolu Selçukluları üzerine yaptığı çalışmalarıyla tanınan Claude Cahen'in eserleri teferruatlı bir şekilde incelenmelidir. Bizde bu çalışmamızda Claude Cahen'in ve eserlerinin tanıtımının gerekliliğine inanarak bu çalışmanın yapılmasını gerekli gördük. Bizans İmparatorluğu ve Haçlı Seferleri konusunda da çalışmaları olan Cahen, Avrupalı tarihçilerin doğuya bakışının aksine daha objektif ve nesnel değerlendirmeleriyle de hak ettiği değeri pekiştirmiş ve Hıristiyan bağnazlığının görmek istediği Türk ve Müslüman algısını değiştirme yönünde çok önemli bir adım atmıştır. Bu yönüylede çağımızın en önemli "Orta Doğunun Ortaçağ Tarihçisi " olmasının yanında batı dünyasının zihninde tortulaşan Türk ve Müslüman algısının çok ötesinde evrensel bir görüş alanının zeminini oluşturarak hem batıda hem de doğuda "Büyük Şarkiyatçı" unvanını hak ettiğini düşünerek tez çalışmamızın konusu olarak seçtik. 1937-1939 yılları arasında Türkiye'de de çalışmalarda bulunan Cahen'in, eserlerinin ve makalelerinin tanıtılması gerektiğine inanarak bu çalışmayı yaptık. Aynı zamanda ileride eserlerinden yararlanılarak yazılacağını düşündüğümüz tez konularının dayanak noktalarının oluşmasını istedik. This work is of Claude Cahen, who made comprehensive searches on Medieval Islamic History and Seljukian History, and his products and articles. The products of Claude Cahen, especially known by the work on Islamic History, Great Seljukian and Anatolian Seljukian States, should be examined. We deduced of Claude Cahen and thesis works written by this products. Cahen who has studies at the same time about Byzantium Empire and Crusades, consolidated the value he deserves with more objective evaluation, on the contrary of European historians view about Asia. And he took an important step on the direction of changing the Turk and Muslim perception which is wanted to be seen by Christian bigotry. In this aspect besides being the most important Ottoman Historian of Middle East in this age, he created the origin of an universal field of view beyond the perception of Turkish and Muslim which became significant in the mind of West and. So he deserved the title of "Great Orientalist" both in West and East. We chose this subject of these situations/things. With thinking that it deserves The title "Great Orientalist not only in west but also in east, creating an universal field of view beyond the Turk and Muslim perception which precipidated in the mind of west. We made this work because we believed the necessity of being introduced the products and articles of Cahen who worked in our country between 1937 and 1939. We also wanted it to be the reference point fort he thesis written by the help of his products in the future. Key Words: Claude Cahen, Seljukian Empire, Turk-Islamic History
