On the expected values of the sample maximum of order statistics from a discrete uniform distribution

Abstract

In this paper, the expected values of the sample maximum of order statistics from a discrete uniform distribution are given by using the sum S(N - 1, n). For n up to 15, algebraic expressions for the expected values are obtained. (C) 2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
