dc.description.abstractIn this study, a robust speed controller is developed for a rear driven Electric Vehicle (EV) in which a brushless DC motor is used. First of all, The mathematical models of EV are derived for both acceleration and deceleration cases. The main objective is to design a robust controller that provides stable, safe and high performance acceleration and deceleration for different road conditions and different speed references. For this aim, a speed controller for the EV is designed using the Reaching Law (RL) Control approach which is a technique to design Sliding Mode Control (SMC) systems and the application problems of this system is developed by using Fuzzy Logic (FL) and RL approach together. Simulation results showing the robustness of the purposed controller for different road conditions and different reference speed values are presented.
