ÇOK PARTİLİ HAYATA GEÇİŞTE VE DEMOKRAT PARTİ DÖNEMİNDE ELAZIĞ'DA SİYASİ HAYAT VE ŞAHSİYETLER (1945-1960)

Abstract

Çok Partili hayata geçiş ile başlayan Araştırmamızın temelini Elazığ ilinin Siyasi Hayatı oluşturmaktadır. Elazığ, Harput'un altında ovada kurulan bir yerleşim merkezidir. Harput Elazığ'ın Eski yerleşim merkezi iken günümüze gelindiğinde kültür ve turizm merkezi olmuştur. Şehir tarihinde büyüklü küçüklü birçok siyasi kuruluşa ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Cumhuriyet döneminde ise Elazığ ismini alan şehirde siyasi hayat çok partili hayata geçiş ve çok partili hayatın getirdiği yeni partiler ile siyasi canlılığını korumuştur. Yeni kurulan partilerden biri de Demokrat Partidir. Türkiye ile birlikte çok partili seçimlere giden Elazığ'da Demokrat Parti 1946 genel seçimlerine girmiştir. Fakat seçimi CHP Kazanmıştır. Elazığ'a 1950 seçimleri ile gelen Demokrat Parti, 1954 seçimleri ile yerleşmiştir. Ama DP'li hayat il de uzun sürmemiş ve 57 seçimlerinde Elazığ tekrar CHP'yi seçmiştir. Elazığ'ın siyasi hayatı seçimler ile sınırlı kalmamış ve devlet büyüklerinin şehre ziyaretleri de olmuştur.1960 yılında ise DP iktidardan düşürülmüştür. Adı darbe olan bu olay ile Türkiye ve Elazığ yeni bir siyasi döneme girmiştir.

The foundation of our research constitutes the Political Life of Elazığ which started with the transition of the multiparty life. Elazığ is a settlement which established under the lowland of Harput. While Harput was the old settlement center of Elazığ, it became a center of culture and tourism nowadays. In history, City has been host to many large and small political organizations. During the Republican era, political life in the city, which took the name of Elazığ, protected its political vitality with the multiparty passion and the new parties brought about by multiparty life. One of the newly formed parties is the Demokrat Party. Demokrat Party has joined the general elections in 1946 with leading to multiparty elections in Elazig along with Turkey. But the CHP won the election. The Democratic Party, which came to Elazığ in 1950 elections, settled to the city with the 1954 elections. But life with DP did not last long in the city and Elazığ chose CHP again in 57 elections. Elazığ's political life was not limited with the elections and Statesmen also visited the city. In 1960, the DP was reduced from the government. Name of the event is stroke that Turkey and Elazığ has entered a new political era.
