ÜÇÜNCÜ SİNEMA ÇERÇEVESİNDE KAZIM ÖZ SİNEMASININ ANALİZİ

Abstract

Üçüncü Sinema, kavramsal olarak ortaya çıktığından beri farklı coğrafyalarda birçok yönetmeni etkilemiştir. Bu akım yönetmenlerin ilgili düşünce çerçevesinde film yapmalarına vesile olmuştur. Türkiye'de Metin Erksan ile ilk örneklerini gördüğümüz Üçüncü Sinemanın, ülkemizde de kendi yönetmenlerini ve izleyici kitlesini yarattığı rahatlıkla söylenebilir. Bu çalışmada, 1960'larda Arjantin'de ilk örnekleriyle karşılaştığımız Üçüncü Sinema'nın kriterleri açısından Kazım Öz sinemasının bu akımın özelliklerini taşıyıp taşımadığı değerlendirilmiştir. Kazım Öz sineması, seçtiği konular ve anlatım dili itibarıyla özgün bir yerde durmaktadır. Bu özgünlüğün Üçüncü Sinema ile bağdaştırılması noktasında bugüne kadar detaylı bir çalışma yapılmamıştır. Bu nedenle, çalışmamızda temel amaç Kazım Öz sinemasının Üçüncü Sinema perspektifiyle literatüre kazandırılması ve Üçüncü Sinemaya dair bir arşiv çalışması oluşturulması olarak belirlenmiştir. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modelini esas alan bu çalışmada betimsel analizinin yanında, filmlerin içerik analizi tekniği de kullanılmıştır. Bu teknik, sosyal gerçekliğin niteliğini belirleyerek analiz edilmesi açısından oldukça elverişlidir. Çalışmanın örneklemini yönetmenin Fotoğraf, Toprak ve Zer filmleri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, Kazım Öz sinemasının dünyadaki benzerleri ve öncülleri gibi hem anlatım hem de yöntemler açısından Üçüncü Sinema'nın kriterlerini taşıdığı görülmüştür. Kazım Öz sinemasına dair yapılan ilk tez çalışması olması sebebiyle bu alandaki boşluğa katkı sunması öngörülmektedir.

Third Cinema has influenced many directors in different geographies since it emerged conceptually. This movement has been instrumental in directors making films within the framework of the relevant thought. It can easily be said that Third Cinema, the first examples of which we saw with Metin Erksan in Turkey, has also created its own directors and audience in our country. In this study, it was evaluated whether Kazım Öz cinema carries the characteristics of this movement in terms of the criteria of Third Cinema, the first examples of which we encountered in Argentina in the 1960s. Kazım Öz cinema stands in a unique place with its chosen subjects and narrative language. No detailed study has been conducted to date on the reconciliation of this uniqueness with Third Cinema. Therefore, the main purpose of our study was determined as bringing Kazım Öz cinema to the literature with the perspective of Third Cinema and creating an archive study on Third Cinema. In this study, which is based on the screening model, one of the qualitative research methods, the content analysis technique of the films was also used in addition to the descriptive analysis. This technique is quite suitable in terms of determining and analyzing the nature of social reality. The sample of the study consists of the director's films named Fotoğraf, Toprak and Zer. As a result of the study, it was seen that Kazım Öz's cinema, like its counterparts and predecessors in the world, carries the criteria of Third Cinema in terms of both narrative and methods. Since it is the first thesis study on Kazım Öz's cinema, it is expected to contribute to the gap in this field.
