HÂKİMİYET-İ MİLLİYE VE İKDAM GAZETELERİNDE HİLAFET TARTIŞMALARI (1919-1924 ARASI)

Abstract

Hâkimiyet-i Milliye ve İkdam gazetelerinde hilafet tartışmaları konulu tez çalışmamızda 1919 ila 1924 yılları arasında söz konusu gazetelerde yayınlanmış olan halifelikle ilgili saygın başlıklar ve köşe yazılarının transkripti ve genel bir değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca Hâkimiyet-i Milliye ve İkdam gazetelerine yansıyan hilafet tartışmaları üzerinden, dönemsel olarak değişen, aynı çevrelere ait farklı bakış açıları da irdelenmiştir. Hilafet tartışmalarının değişen seyrine ve yoğunluğuna göre üç farklı evrede incelediğimiz 1919 ila 1924 yılları arası dönemin ilk evresini milli mücadele dönemi hilafet tartışmaları, ikinci evresini hilafetin saltanattan ayrılması ile başlayan tartışmalar, üçüncü evresini ise hilafetin ilgası etrafındaki tartışmalar oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmamızda, hilafet tartışmalarının tarihi arka planı ve referans noktalarının daha iyi anlaşıla bilmesi için hilafetin kavramsal çerçevesi ve tarihsel süreci üzerinde de durulmuştur.

In our thesis study which is about discussion of the caliphate in Hâkimiyet-i Milliye and Ikdam newspapers, the precious titles about the caliphate published in the mentioned newspapers between 1919 and 1924, the transcript of the columns, and a general evaluation are made. In addition, different perspective of the same circles, which changed periodically, were studied through the discussions of the caliphate reflected in the Hâkimiyet-i Milliye and Ikdam newspapers. The first phase of the period between 1919 and 1924,which we examined in three different phases according to the changing course and intensity of the caliphate discussions, was the discussions of the caliphate in the national struggle period, and the second phase was the discussions that started with seperation of the caliphate from reign, and the discussions about the abolition of the caliphate forms were the third phase. In our study, the historical background of the caliphate debate and the conceptual frame-work and historical process of the caliphate were also emphasized in order to better understand the reference points.
