İLKÖĞRETİM 6. SINIF SOSYAL BİLGİLER ÖĞRETİM PROGRAMINDA YER ALAN KONULARIN ÖĞRETİMİNDE BİLGİ - İLETİŞİM TEKNOLOJİLERİNİN KULLANILMASININ ÖĞRENCİ BAŞARISINA ETKİSİNİN ÖĞRETMEN GÖRÜŞLERİNE GÖRE DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ: ELAZIĞ İLİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Hazırlamış olduğumuz bu araştırma 6. sınıf sosyal bilgiler öğretim programında yer alan konuların öğretiminde bilgi iletişim teknolojilerinin etkililiğinin öğretmen görüşlerine göre ortaya konulmasını amaçlamaktadır. Bu araştırma sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleriyle nicel araştırma yöntemleri birlikte kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırma genel tarama modellerinden faydalanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada elde edilen bulgular 2012-2013 öğretim yılında Elazığ ilinde bulunan ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan 102 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeninin anket sorularına verdikleri yanıtlar ve ilgili literatür ile sınırlıdır. Ankette bulunan sorular 6. sınıf sosyal bilgiler öğretim programında yer alan konuların bilgi iletişim teknolojilerinin öğrenci başarısına etkisinin öğretmen görüşleriyle ölçme amacıyla hazırlanmış sorulardır. Ayrıca sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin bilgi iletişim teknolojilerine bakış açıları hakkında da bilgi edinilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuç ise 6. sınıf sosyal bilgiler öğretim programında yer alan konuların öğretiminde, bilgi iletişim teknolojilerinin etkili olduğudur. Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin anketteki 38 maddeye verdikleri yanıtlar doğrultusunda, bilgi iletişim teknolojilerinin sosyal bilgiler dersinde kullanılmasının öğrenci başarısını arttırıcı yönde etki edeceği tespiti yapılmıştır. Bu durum aynı zamanda sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin; bilgi iletişim teknolojilerini takip eden, uygun programlar geliştirebilen ve eğitim ortamında etkili kullanabilen bireyler haline gelmesinin gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır.

Our study aims at presenting, from teachers' perspective, the effectiveness of information and communication technologies in teaching subjects of the social sciences curriculum of the 6th grade. The study has been carried out with social sciences teachers by using qualitative research methods. It benefited from general screening models. Findings of the study is limited to the review of related literature and to the responses to survey questions by 102 social sciences teachers working in elementary schools lower secondary in Elazığ during 2012-2013 academic calendar. Questions in the survey were prepared to measure, according to teachers' opinion, the effect of the use information and communication technologies on students' success with regard to subjects thaught under social sciences curriculum. In addition to that, study aimed at getting social sciences teachers' points of views about information and communication technologies. The results of the study show that information and communication technologies are effective in teaching of social sciences' curriculum subjects. The responses by social sciences teachers to 38 points mentioned in the Survey point out that usage of information and communication technologies in social sciences classes will have a positive effect in increasing the success of students. This situation also suggest that social sciences teachers should become individuals who follow information and communication technologies closely, who can develop appropriate programmes and use them effectively in education.
