In this thesis, nanocomposite nanofibers based on biodegradable and biocompatible polymers polycaprolactone (PCL) and polyethylene glycol (PEG), with Fe₃O₄ magnetic nanoparticles, were produced by electrospinning. The addition of PEG increased the hydrophilicity and biomedical suitability of PCL, while Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles imparted magnetic properties to the system. The obtained nanocomposites were characterized structurally, chemically, morphologically, and thermally using XRD, FTIR, SEM, AFM, DSC, and TGA analyses. The results showed that Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles were successfully integrated into the polymer matrix, affecting the crystalline structure and causing changes in surface morphology. Thermal analyses revealed that the degree of crystallinity decreased with increasing nanoparticle ratio, while thermal stability increased. Furthermore, a significant shape-recall behavior was observed in the sample containing 20% Fe₃O₄; it was determined that the material could maintain its temporary shape and return to its initial shape with thermal stimulation. In conclusion, PCL-PEG/Fe₃O₄ nanocomposite nanofibers were evaluated as promising multifunctional materials for biomedical applications such as controlled drug delivery and tissue engineering, offering a combination of biocompatibility, tunable thermal properties, magnetic response, and shape memory behavior.
