YAPAY ZEKÂ ALGORİTMALARI İLE ANİMASYON FİLM ÜRETİMİ VE DİJİTAL ANLATININ YENİ ESTETİĞİ

Abstract

Tez yapay zekâ algoritmalarının animasyon film üretim süreçlerine dahil edilmesinden kaynaklanan estetik ve anlatısal dönüşümü incelemektedir. Dijital dönüşüm, sanat üretimini sadece teknik araçlardaki değişimin ötesine taşıyarak anlatı yapısını ve estetik kararları da içeren yeni bir biçime dönüştürmektedir. Özellikle üretken modellerin görüntü ve ses dünyasına girişi animasyon sinemasında alışılmadık farklı anlatı yolları açmaktadır. Araştırmada yapay zekâ desteğiyle oluşturulan özgün animasyon filmin üretim süreci, nitel bir örneklem üzerinden incelenmiştir. Senaryo yazımından görsel tasarıma, sahne yaratımından kurguya kadar her aşama insan ve algoritmalar arasındaki etkileşim yoluyla takip edilmiştir. Üretim sürecinde karşılaşılan algoritmik sapmalar öngörülemeyen çıktılar ve rastgele sonuçlar dijital anlatının yeni estetik olanakları kapsamında değerlendirilmiştir. Metnin teorik inşası Marshall McLuhan'ın medya teorisi ve Lev Manovich'in estetik yaklaşımlarına dayanmaktadır. Algoritmalar süreci kolaylaştıran ruhsuz araçlar olmaktan öte estetik kararları doğrudan yönlendiren sosyo-teknik öznelerdir. Teknolojilerin animasyon üretiminde kullanımı, klasik ve monoton hikaye anlatımından uzaklaşarak parçalı duygusal ve deneyim odaklı yola girmemizi sağlamaktadır. İnsan kontrolü algoritmaların bağımsız doğasının birleşimi animasyon dünyasında benzersiz görsel dilin ortaya çıktığını söylemeyi mümkün kılmaktadır. Bu tez somut uygulama üzerinden dijital hikaye anlatımı alanındaki tartışmaları incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Yapay zeka destekli sanat üretimini estetik, teknik ve teorik açılardan bir bütün olarak değerlendiren bakış açısı sunmayı hedeflemektedir.

This thesis examines the aesthetic and narrative transformation resulting from the inclusion of artificial intelligence algorithms in animation film production processes. Digital transformation goes beyond mere changes in technical tools, transforming art production into a new form that also includes narrative structure and aesthetic decisions. The introduction of generative models into the world of image and sound, in particular, opens up unusual and different narrative avenues in animation cinema. In this research, the production process of an original animation film created with the support of artificial intelligence is examined through a qualitative sample. Every stage, from scriptwriting to visual design, scene creation to editing, is followed through the interaction between humans and algorithms. Algorithmic deviations, unpredictable outputs, and random results encountered during the production process are evaluated within the context of the new aesthetic possibilities of digital narrative. The theoretical construction of the text is based on Marshall McLuhan's media theory and Lev Manovich's aesthetic approaches. Algorithms are not merely soulless tools that facilitate the process, but socio-technical agents that directly guide aesthetic decisions. The use of technologies in animation production allows us to move away from classical and monotonous storytelling and towards a fragmented, emotionally and experience-oriented path. The combination of human control and the independent nature of algorithms makes it possible to say that a unique visual language has emerged in the world of animation. This thesis aims to examine the discussions in the field of digital storytelling through concrete application. It aims to offer a perspective that evaluates AI-assisted art production as a whole from aesthetic, technical, and theoretical viewpoints.
