ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN DİNSEL HOŞGÖRÜ VE KÜLTÜREL ZEKÂ DÜZEYLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin dinsel hoşgörü düzeyleri ile kültürel zekâ düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Çalışma, Fırat Üniversitesi'nde öğrenim gören üniversite öğrencileri örnekleminde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş; veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Kültürel Zekâ Ölçeği ve Dinsel Hoşgörü Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler istatistiksel analiz yöntemleriyle değerlendirilmiş; öğrencilerin kültürel zekâ ve dinsel hoşgörü düzeyleri belirlenmiş ve bu iki değişken arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Ayrıca yaş, cinsiyet, sosyoekonomik düzey, yaşanılan çevre, dini inanç, dini eğitim alma durumu, okunan bölüm ve farklı din ve kültürlere mensup bireylerle etkileşimde bulunma gibi demografik değişkenlerin kültürel zekâ ve dinsel hoşgörü üzerindeki etkileri analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma, Allport'un temas hipotezi çerçevesinde ele alınarak, farklı gruplarla kurulan sosyal temasın hoşgörü ve kültürel zekâ üzerindeki rolüne de odaklanmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, üniversite öğrencilerinin kültürel zekâ düzeyleri ile dinsel hoşgörü düzeyleri arasında anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü bir ilişki bulunduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Kültürel zekâ düzeyi yükseldikçe, öğrencilerin farklı dini inançlara yönelik daha hoşgörülü tutumlar sergiledikleri tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar, çokkültürlü ve çok inançlı toplumlarda toplumsal uyumun güçlendirilmesi açısından kültürel zekâ ve dinsel hoşgörünün önemini vurgulamaktadır.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between religious tolerance levels and cultural intelligence levels of university students. The research was conducted with students studying at Fırat University. A quantitative research design was adopted, and data were collected using the Personal Information Form, the Cultural Intelligence Scale, and the Religious Tolerance Scale. The collected data were analyzed using statistical methods to determine students' levels of cultural intelligence and religious tolerance and to examine the relationship between these variables. In addition, the effects of demographic variables such as age, gender, socioeconomic status, living environment, religious belief, religious education background, department of study, and interaction with individuals from different religious and cultural backgrounds were analyzed. The study was also framed within Allport's contact hypothesis, emphasizing the role of social interaction with diverse groups in the development of tolerance and cultural intelligence. The findings of the study revealed a significant and positive relationship between cultural intelligence and religious tolerance levels among university students. As cultural intelligence levels increased, students tended to display more tolerant attitudes toward different religious beliefs. These results highlight the importance of cultural intelligence and religious tolerance in promoting social harmony and peaceful coexistence in multicultural and multi-faith societies.
