KÜRESEL YOKSULLUK ETİĞİ: PETER SİNGER VE THOMAS POGGE ARASINDA BİR KARŞILAŞTIRMA

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Küresel Yoksullukla mücadelede yoksulluğun boyutlarına ve bununla bağlantılı olarak mücadele yöntemlerine Peter Singer ve Thomas Pogge'nin etik alandaki çalışmaları temel alınarak odaklanılacaktır. Ayrıca felsefi açıdan küresel yoksulluğa karşı gelişmiş ülkelerin ve vatandaşlarının etik sorumluluklarının neler olduğu konusunda ilgili filozofların bakış açılarıyla bir araştırmada bulunulacaktır. Etik bir sorumluluk olarak çözüme katkıda bulunma ve ya faydacılık temelinde aynı sorunun derinleşerek gelişmiş ülkelere zarar vermemesini sağlamak amacıyla bu sorunun çözümüne yönelik yapılabilecekler incelenecektir. Bu konuda Peter Singer faydacı yaklaşımı, Thomas pogge'nin insan hakları temelli yaklaşımıyla kıyaslanacak ve iki bakış açısına yönelen eleştiriler işlenecektir. Sonuç olarak iki bakış açısının da faydalı olduğu fakat tek başına yetersiz oldukları ve birbirlerini tamamladıkları konusu sonuç bölümünde işlenecektir.

This study will focus on the dimensions of poverty and related methods of struggle against poverty on the basis of Peter Singer and Thomas Pogge's work in the field of ethics. In addition, from a philosophical point of view, an enquiry will be made on the ethical responsibilities of developed countries and their citizens against global poverty from the perspectives of the relevant philosophers. Contributing to the solution as an ethical responsibility or what can be done to solve this problem in order to prevent the same problem from deepening and harming developed countries on the basis of utilitarianism will be examined. In this regard, Peter Singer's utilitarian approach will be compared with Thomas Pogge's human rights-based approach and the criticisms against both perspectives will be analysed. As a result, it will be concluded that both perspectives are useful, but that they are insufficient on their own and that they complement each other.
