KUR'AN TARİHİNE ORYANTALİST BİR YAKLAŞIM: JOHN BURTON ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Burton'un hayatı, eserleri ve düşünce yapısı incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, bu çalışma Kur'ân tarihi çalışmalarıyla öne çıkan İngiliz Oryantalist John Burton'un "Kur'ân'ın Cem'i" adlı eserinin Kur'ân tarihi bağlamında değerlendirilip, özellikle Hz. Peygamber (s.a.v.) 'den sonra Kur'ân'ın metinleşme sürecinin şümullu tarihini ihtiva eden görüşlerinin mahiyetini tespit amacıyla ortaya konmuştur. Burton diğer oryantalistlerin aksine bazı konularda farklı bir tutum içerisinde olduğu görülmüştür. Zaman zaman diğer oryantalistleri eleştiren Burton, "Kur'ân'ın Cem'i" adlı eserinde Kur'ân'ın tedvini meselesini nesih konusuyla irtibatlandırmaya çalışmıştır ve Kur'ân ve mushaf kavramları arasında keskin bir ayrıma gitmiştir. Bu çalışmada temel olarak Burton'un Kur'ân tarihi (Kur'ân'ın metinleşme süreci, otantikliği ve kırâatlere dair meseleler) hakkında öne sürdüğü görüşler izah edilip incelenmiştir.

In this study, Burton's life, works and frame of mind were examined. Moreover, this study is put forward to evaluate English orientalist John Burton's book(The Collection Of The Qur'an), who is prominent with the works of the history of the Qur'ân, in the context of the Qur'ânic history, especially, to determine the nature of the comments which were includes the process of the development of the Qur'ânic texts and its far-reaching history after the Prophet Mohammad(pbuh). On the contrary of the other orientalists Burton, has a different attitude in some topics. From time to time, he criticized other orientalists and tried to connect the issue of jam al-Qur'ân with the naskh and attended to seperate Qur'ân and mushaf concepts in a sharp contrast. In this study, is basicly examine to explain John Burton's opinions which were suggested about the history of the Qur'ân (Textualization and the authenticity of the Qur'ân and the issues which related to Qırâah )
