TOPLUMSAL CİNSİYET BAĞLAMINDA ÖTEKİ'NİN TEMSİL MECRASI OLARAK TİKTOK

Abstract

Toplumsal Cinsiyet Bağlamında "Öteki" 'nin Temsil Mecrası Olarak TikTok isimli bu tez çalışmasının amacı toplumun 'öteki' olan ve cinsel yönelimleri farklı olan birey ve toplulukların oluşturduğu LGBT'lerin TikTok'ta ne gibi temsillerinin bulunduğu ve bunun karşılığında homofobik bireylerin bu temsillere ne gibi yorumlar yaptığının ortaya konmasıdır. Bu amaçtan hareketle tez, eşcinsel bireylerin TikTok'ta dolaşıma soktukları videoların ve yapılan yorumların incelenmesi üzerine bina edilmiştir. Cinsellik tarihi kadar eski olan eşcinsellik tarihi toplumdan topluma ya da kültürden kültüre farklılık gösterse bile cezalarla baskı altında tutulmuş, aşağılanmış, ötekileştirilmiştir. Toplumdan dışlanan ve marjinal sayılan bireyler "öteki" konumunda yer almıştır. Günümüzde toplumsal algılar ve normlar nedeni ile halen heteroseksüeller tarafından LGBT'ler dışlanmaya ve ötekileştirme maruz bırakılmaktadır. Bu çerçevede çalışmanın araştırma boyutunda; araştırma problemlerini kapsamlı olarak irdeleyebilmek, bir yöntemin zayıf yönünün diğer yöntemin güçlü yönüyle tamamlayabilmek ve bir yöntemin diğer yöntemdeki eksik yönlerini güçlendirmek amacıyla, karma model yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. LGBT bireylerinin TikTok platformunda paylaştıkları videolara göstergebilimsel analiz yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra paylaşılan videolara heteroseksüel bireylerin yaptıkları homofobik yorumlara ise söylem analizi yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında örneklem olarak seçilen 6 LGBT üyesinin dolaşıma soktuğu 12 video incelenmiştir. . Bu kullanıcılardan 1'i gay diğer 5'i ise trans birey olarak görülmüştür. İncelenen videoların altına yapılan ikişer yorum incelenmiş ve elde edilen bulgular varsayımlar doğrultusunda analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonunda, örneklem olarak seçilen videolar bağlamında TikTok mecrasının LGBT bireyleri için bir temsil mecrası haline geldiği görülmüştür. Toplumsal cinsiyet bağlamında öteki bireyler TikTok platformunda birçok video paylaşmakta ve eşcinsel olduklarını gerek hareketleriyle gerek söylemleriyle apaçık ifade etmektedirler. Yapılan söylem analizinde ise LGBT bireylerine ait videolara ağır nefret söylemi içeren homofobik yorumların yapıldığı ve LGBT bireylerinin öteki olarak gösterimin bu söylemlerle tescillendiği yorumlara rastlanılmıştır.

The aim of this work, TikTok as the Representation Medium of the Other in the Context of Gender, is how LGBTs, who are 'other' in the society and individuals and communities with different sexual orientations, present themselves on TikTok and what kind of interpretation by homophobic individuals to these presentations. is the demonstration of what you do. Based on this purpose, the thesis is built on the examination of videos that homosexual individuals put into circulation on TikTok and the comments made on them. Even if the history of homosexuality, which is as old as the history of sexuality, differs from society to society or from culture to culture, it has been oppressed by punishments, humiliated and marginalized. Individuals excluded from the society and considered marginal took the position of "the other". Today, due to social perceptions and norms, heterosexuals still expose LGBTs to exclusion and marginalization. In this framework, in the research dimension of the study; The mixed model approach was used in order to examine the research problems comprehensively, to complement the weakness of one method with the strength of the other method, and to strengthen the deficiencies of one method in another method. Semiological analysis was applied to the videos shared by LGBT individuals on the TikTok platform. In addition, discourse analysis was applied to the homophobic comments made by heterosexual individuals on the shared videos. Within the scope of the research, 6 videos circulated by 6 LGBT members selected as samples were analyzed. One of these users was seen as gay and the other 5 as a transgender. Two comments made under the analyzed videos were examined and the findings were analyzed in line with the assumptions. At the end of the analysis, it was seen that TikTok channel has become a representation medium for LGBT individuals in the context of videos chosen as a sample. In the context of gender, other individuals share many videos on the TikTok platform and clearly express their homosexuality with their movements and their discourse. In the discourse analysis made, it was found that there were homophobic comments on the videos of LGBT individuals containing heavy hate speech and that the screening of LGBT individuals as the other was registered with these discourses.
