1627 Dated Harput Shari?ah Register?s Presentation and Index

Abstract

The Kadis, who were most importand for the Ottoman judicial system, were judge, mayor, police chief, civilian authority, notary, registry officer and social security authority for public problems. The Kadis were posting up on registry decisions, official things and documents were sent from the center, while carrying out all these duties. These registers - common name- is called shari?ah register. The shari?ah registers extremely important resources for enlighten about social, economic, and military history of Ottoman States. In this study, Harput shari?ah registers, which belonging to the year 1627, was introduced and summaries of documents in this shari’ah registers was ranked that Harput was important township of the Ottoman States.

Osmanlı adlî teşkilatının temel taşı olan kadılar, bulundukları yerin hâkimi, belediye başkanı, emniyet amiri, mülkî amiri, noteri, tapu sicil görevlisi ve halkın her konuda müracaat edebileceği sosyal güvenlik makamı idi. Kadılar bütün bu görevlerini yerine getirirken, verdikleri kararları, resmiyete geçirilmesi istenilen hususları ve merkezden gönderilen belgelerin suretlerini defterlere kaydederlerdi. Bu defterlere yaygın ismiyle şer?iyye sicili denilmektedir. Şer?iyye sicilleri Osmanlı Devleti?nin sosyal, iktisadi ve askeri tarihinin aydınlatılması açısından son derece önemli kaynaklardır. Bu çalışmada, Osmanlı Devleti?nin önemli bir kazası olan Harput?a ait 1627 tarihli sicilin tanıtımı yapılmış ve bu sicildeki belgelerin özetlerine yer verilmiştir.
