Yapay Zekâ ile Zenginleştirilmiş Çevrimiçi Yabancı Dil Öğretiminin Öğrencilerin Yapay Zekâya Yönelik Tutumlarına Etkisi: Deneysel Çalışma

Abstract

Hızla gelişen dijital teknolojiler, eğitimde köklü dönüşümlere yol açarak çevrimiçi öğrenme ortamlarında yapay zekâ tabanlı uygulamaların kullanımını yaygınlaştırmıştır. Özellikle öğrenci katılımını artırmak, bireysel ihtiyaçlara yanıt vermek ve etkileşimi güçlendirmek amacıyla geliştirilen yapay zekâ destekli dijital araçlar, kişiselleştirilmiş öğrenme deneyimleri sunmakta ve öğrencilere anlık geribildirim sağlamaktadır. Bu yönleriyle de hem geleneksel hem de çağdaş sınıf yönetimi yaklaşımlarda sıklıkla tercih edilebileceklerdir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmada, yapay zekâ ile zenginleştirilmiş çevrimiçi bir sınıfta yabancı dil öğretimi sürecine katılan öğrencilerin yapay zekâya yönelik tutumlarının nasıl değişebileceğinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 32 tane ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrencileri ile çalışma yürütülmüştür. Tek gruplu öntest-sontest yarı deneysel desen olarak planlanan araştırma süreci sekiz hafta sürmüştür. Deneysel sürecin uygulama öncesinde ve sonrasında öğrencilere "Yapay Zekâya Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği" uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonunda deney grubunda yapay zekâ ile zenginleştirilmiş çevrimiçi yabancı dil öğretiminin öğrencilerin yapay zekâya yönelik tutumlarında kayda değer bir artış gözlemlenmemiş olup, öğrencilerin başlangıçtaki tutumlarının süreç boyunca büyük ölçüde sabit kaldığı belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar doğrultusunda, öğrencilerin mevcut olumlu tutumlarının korunması ve geliştirilmesi için çeşitli pedagojik önerilere yer verilmiştir.

Rapidly developing digital technologies have led to radical transformations in education, making the use of artificial intelligence-based applications widespread in online learning environments. Artificial intelligence-supported digital tools, which are developed especially to increase student participation, respond to individual needs and strengthen interaction, offer personalized learning experiences and provide instant feedback to students. In these aspects, they can be frequently preferred in both traditional and contemporary classroom management approaches. In this context, this study aims to examine how the attitudes of students participating in a foreign language teaching process in an online classroom enriched with artificial intelligence may change towards artificial intelligence. For this purpose, the study was conducted with 32 7th grade secondary school students. The research process, planned as a single-group pretest-posttest semi-experimental design, lasted eight weeks. The "Attitude Scale Towards Artificial Intelligence" was applied to the students before and after the application of the experimental process. At the end of the study, it was determined that no significant increase was observed in the attitudes of the students towards artificial intelligence in the experimental group after online foreign language teaching enriched with artificial intelligence, and the students' initial attitudes remained largely stable throughout the process. In line with the results, various pedagogical suggestions were made to maintain and develop the current positive attitudes of the students.
