The irreversibility of a cycle is the sum of the irreversibilities of the processes that compose cycle. The application of the second law of thermodynamics to the various processes has been presented in different ways. Such as, the net entropy increases (or entropy generation), irreversibility, lost work and available energy or exergy. All these concepts tend to confuse, cloud to understand and result an avoidance of its use. ln this study, a new relation has been developed which involving between irreversibility and second law efficiency of the gas power cycles. The new relation is much easier to understand, the irreversibility of a gas power cycle.
