ORTAOKUL MATEMATİK ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN MOBBİNGE MARUZ KALMALARI İLE MESLEKİ TÜKENMİŞLİKLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Mobbing (psikolojik yıldırma) ve tükenmişlik çalışma örgütlerinin amaçlarını gerçekleştirmesine engel olan önemli iki faktördür. Literatürde özellikle eğitim örgütlerinde öğretmenlerin farklı degişkenlere bağlı olarak mobbinge maruz kaldıklarını ve tükenmişlik yaşadıklarını gösteren bulgular yer almaktadır. Mobbing ve tükenmişlik olgularını ayrı ayrı ve farklı sektörlerde inceleyen çok sayıda çalışma olmasına rağmen eğitim sektöründe mobbing ve tükenmişlik ilişkisini ele alan sınırlı sayıda çalışma yapılmıştır. Özellikle branş bazındaki araştırmaların yetersiz olduğu görülmüş ve bu konuda ortaokul matematik öğretmenleri üzerine yapılan herhangi bir araştırmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu nedenle çalışmanın hazırlanma amacı ortaokul matematik öğretmenlerinin mobbinge maruz kalmaları ile mesleki tükenmişlikleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek, mobbing ve tükenmişliğin demografik değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılan ölçeğin ilk kısmında öğretmenlerin cinsiyeti, medeni durumu, mesleki kıdemi, çalışmakta olduğu okuldaki görev süresi, öğrenim durumu, kadro durumu ve çalıştığı okulun niteliği gibi demografik bilgilerin toplandığı Kişisel Bilgi Formu (EK 1) bulunmaktadır. Tükenmişlik düzeyini belirlemek amacıyla İnce ve Şahin' in (2015) geliştirdikleri Maslach Tükenmişlik Envanteri-Eğitimci Formu (EK 2) kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin mobbing algı düzeyini tespit etmek amacı ile de Cemaloğlu ve Ertürk' ün (2007) geliştirdikleri Mobbing ölçeği (EK 3) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan veriler Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde yer alan bir il merkezindeki resmi ve özel ortaokullarda çalışan 243 matematik öğretmenine uygulanan ölçekten elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Sosyo demografik verilerde frekans (f) ve yüzde (%) değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Tükenmişlik ve mobbing ölçeğinin tamamına ve alt boyutlarına ilişkin aritmetik ortalama (x?) ve standart sapma değerleri hesaplanarak örneklem grubunun ölçeğe ve ölçeğin alt boyutlarına ilişkin genel görüşleri belirlenmiştir. İkili değişkenler olan cinsiyet ve medeni durum gibi sosyo demografik verilerle alt boyutlar arasında T testi; ikiden fazla özellik içeren sosyo demografik verilerle alt boyutlar arasında ise ANOVA (F) testi yapılmıştır. Tükenmişlik ölçeği ve alt boyutlarının; mobbing ölçeğinin ve alt boyutlarının birbirleriyle olan ilişkilerini belirlemek amacıyla da korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, ortaokul matematik öğretmenlerinin genel mobbing ve genel tükenmişlik algıları düşük düzeydedir. Genel mobbing ve genel tükenmişlik algıları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmamaktadır. Ancak mobbingin bazı alt boyutları ile tükenmişliğin bazı alt boyutları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Demografik değişkenlere göre incelendiğinde tükenmişliğin medeni durum, kıdem, çalışma süresi, kadro durumu ve okul niteliği değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği; öğrenim durumu ve cinsiyet değişkenlerine göre ise istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık göstermediği görülmektedir. Mobbing düzeyinin de medeni durum, mesleki kıdem, çalışma süresi, öğrenim durumu ve okul niteliği değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık göstermekte; cinsiyete ve kadro durumu değişkenlerine göre ise istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık göstermemektedir. Bulgular literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır.The mobbing ( psychological intimidation) and the burnout are two significant factors which are preventive for the working organizations to make their goals. The findings are available in the literature about that the teachers in the education organizations are exposed to the mobbing depending on the different variables and they have the burnout. Although many studies have been available to review the facts of mobbing and burnout respectively and in the different sectors, the studies in finite number considering the relationship between the mobbing and burnout in the education sector have been made. Especially, it has been seen that the branch-based researches are insufficient, and any researches which have been made on the secondary-school math teachers about this subject have not been seen. Thus, the research aim is to review the relationship between the exposure of secondary-school math teachers to the mobbing and the occupational burnout, and to reveal whether the mobbing and burnout differ or not by the demographic variables. A Personal Information Form (Appendix I) that the demographic information such as the teachers' gender, marital status, professional seniority, duty term at school where they have still worked, educational situation, staff situation and quality of school where they work are gathered is available on the first section of scale which is used as the data collection tool in the research. The Maslach Burnout Inventory- Educator Form (Appendix 2) that Ince and Sahin (2015) developed it was used in order to determine the level of burnout. The Mobbing Scale (Appendix 3) that Cemaloglu and Erturk (2007) developed it was used in order to determine the level of teachers' perception on the mobbing. The data used in the research was obtained from the scale which was applied to 243 math teachers working for state and private secondary schools in the city center located in Eastern Anatolian region. The obtained data was analyzed by SPSS package program. The frequency (f) and percentage (%) values were calculated in the socio-demographic data. The sampling group' s general views related to the scale and subdimensions were determined as the arithmetic mean (x) and the standard deviation values related to the whole and subdimensions of burnout and mobbing scale were calculated. T test was applied for the socio demographic data such as the gender and marital status as the dichotomous variables and their subdimensions; and ANOVA (F) test was applied for the socio demographic data including more than two features and their subdimensions. The correlation analysis was made on the purpose of determining the relationships between the burnout and mobbing scale and the subdimensions. According to the results which were obtained from the research, the level of secondary-school math teachers' general burnout perceptions is very low. There is no significant relationship between general mobbing and general burnout perceptions. But it is conclued that there is a significant relationship between some mobbing subdimensions and some burnout subdimensions. It was seen that the burnout differs in marital status, seniority, duty term, staff situation and school' s quality variables; it has not got the significant difference by the variable of gender and educational situation. It was also determined that the level of mobbing has a significant difference by the variables of marital status, professional seniority, duty term, educational situation and quality of school; it has not a significant difference by the variables of gender and staff situation.
