GÜZELLİK ALGISININ KADIN BEDENİ ÜZERİNDEN SOSYOLOJİK OLARAK DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Kadına yöneltilmiş bir özellik olarak karşımıza çıkan güzellik olgusunun ele alındığı bu çalışmada; geçmişten günümüze kadar çeşitli unsurlardan etkilenerek şekillendirilmiş bedenin günümüzde geldiği nokta, birey ve toplum üzerinde oluşturduğu etkiler, beden algısı ve güzellik idealinin kadın üzerinde ki yansıması açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Beden kavramı incelenerek, tarihsel süreç içerisinde bedene yüklenen anlamlar, bedene yapılan dayatmalar, beden üzerinden gerçekleştirilen amaçlar ve günümüzde beden merkezli standartların getirileriyle oluşan beden algısının bireysel ve toplumsal etkisi üzerinde durulmuştur. Kadın ve bedeninin toplumsal konumu sosyal teoriler ışığında incelenerek sosyolojik olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Daha önceki çalışmalardan farklı olarak beden, güzellik ve kadın ilişkisi farklı dönemlerde ve farklı açılardan ele alınarak, güzellik söylemlerinin kadın üzerinde yarattığı etkiler sosyolojik olarak incelenmiştir. Yaşanan toplumsal değişimler doğrultusunda kadın ve bedeni üzerinde oluşturulan algı ve uygulanan müdahalelerde eril ideolojinin payı incelenerek özellikle tüketim toplumunun kadın üzerindeki güzellik dayatmasının sebep ve sonuçları üzerinde durulmuştur. Tam bu noktada toplumsal, kültürel, siyasi alanda iktidarlar tarafından uygulanan bedensel dayatmalar karşısında kadınların bilinç düzeylerinin arttırılması ve kadınların bedeni üzerindeki baskı ve yönlendirmelerin, yine kadının bedeni üzerindeki irade ve hakimiyetinin gücüyle yok edilebileceği gerçeğine dikkat çekilmiştir.

Which are perceived as a female matter, that also concentrated on the phenomenon of beauty in this study, the body is shaped under the influence of numerous factors from the past to the present, and today has reached the point where the effects on the individual and society, body image and beauty ideals on women was regarded as a reflection. The importance of examining the concept of the body, the meanings attributed to the body in the historical process, the impositions made on the body, the goals realized over the body, and the individual and social impact of body perception, which is formed by today's returns of body-centred standards, is emphasized. Women's social position and body have been analyzed in the light of social theories and avaluated sociologically. Unlike previous studies, the relationship between body, beauty, and woman has been discussed from various historical periods and perspectives, and the sociological effects of beauty discourses on women have been investigated. In accordance with social changes, the role of masculine ideology in the perception and interventions made on women and their bodies was investigated, and the reasons and consequences of the consumer society's imposition of beauty on women were emphasized. At this point, it has been brought to light that women's awareness can be raised in the face of bodily impositions imposed by authorities in the social, cultural, and political spheres and that the power of the women's will and dominance of their body can destroy the pressures and manipulations on their bodies.
