ÇOCUK DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİNDE KULLANILAN TESTLER: FARKLI BİRİMLERDE ÇALIŞAN ÇOCUK GELİŞİMCİLERİN GÖRÜŞLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Çocuk gelişimcilerin mesleğine yönelik eğitimler alması ve araçları kullanması mesleki gereksinimleri için önemli varsayılmaktadır. Çocuk gelişimciler tarafından en çok kullanılan değerlendirme araçlarının ortaya çıkarılması çocuk gelişim alanında eğitim gören öğrencilere, mesleğe yeni başlayan çocuk gelişimcilere yol gösterici olması, deneyimlerini artıracak uygun ölçme araçlarının eğitimlerini alması ve karşılaşabilecekleri kişilerin kimler olacağı konusunda bilgilerin verilmesi araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya 30 çocuk gelişimci katılmıştır ve görüşleri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme ile elde edilmiştir. Çocuk gelişimcilerin hepsi en çok başvurunun gelişimsel gerilik şüphesi (gelişimsel değerlendirme talebi) ile olduğunu bunu takiben dil konuşma problemi, okula hazırbulunuşluk, dikkat problemleri sebebiyle geldiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Çocuk gelişimcilerin hepsi değerlendirme yaptıklarını ve bu değerlendirmeleri yaparken gelişimsel tarama, tanılama ve hazırbulunuşluk testleri gibi değerlendirme araçlarından yararlandıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Çocuk Gelişimcilerin çalıştıkları bakanlıklara (bağlı birimlere) göre kullandıkları değerlendirme araçlarında, eğitim programlarında, karşılaştıkları yaş gruplarında bazı farklılıklar olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır Çocuk gelişimciler tarafından en çok kullanılan gelişimsel tarama aracı Denver II testi, tanılama aracı MCHAT, CARS gibi otizm değerlendirme testleri ve D2, Burdan gibi dikkat testleri, hazırbulunuşluk aracı olarak da Metropolitan Okul Olgunluğu testi olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

The aim of the research is to reveal the assessment tools most used by child development specialists based on their working units and thus to guide the students of the child development department and child development specialists who are new to the profession, to receive training on appropriate measurement tools that will increase their experience, and to provide information about the people they may encounter. Thirty child development specialists participated in the study and their opinions were obtained through semi-structured interviews. All of them stated that the most common reason for the application was suspicion of developmental delay followed by speech and language problems, school readiness and attention problems. It was concluded that there are some differences in the assessment tools, training programs, and age groups they encounter according to the ministries in which they work. It was revealed that the most commonly used developmental screening tool used by them is the Denver II test, the diagnostic tool is autism assessment tests such as MCHAT, CARS, and attention tests such as D2 and Burdan, and the Metropolitan School Readiness Test is the readiness tool.
