MAMURETÜLAZİZ’DE KAPUÇİNLER ve FRANSIZ KURUMLARI

Abstract

XIX. yüzyılda Osmanlı Devleti topraklarında, yabancı devletlerin himayesinde pek çok kurum oluşturulmuştur. Bu kurumlar, Osmanlı tebaası olan gayrimüslim vatandaşlar üzerinden eğitim ve kültür hizmetleri yaparken aynı zamanda misyonerlik faaliyeti de yürütmüştür. Dönemi itibarıyla Anadolu’daki önemli merkezlerden biri olan Harput, bu kurumların çokça açıldığı yerlerden biri idi. Vilayette Amerikan, Fransız ve Alman devletlerinin desteklediği kurumlar vücuda getirilmişti. Bu çalışmada Mamuretülaziz Vilayeti’nde faaliyet yürüten Kapuçin rahipleri ve Fransız kurumları hakkında bilgi verilecektir.

In the 19th century, many institutions were established on the territory of the Ottoman Empire under the protection of foreign states. While these institutions provided educational and cultural services to non-Muslim citizens who were Ottoman subjects, they also carried out missionary activities. Harput, which was one of the important centers in Anatolia as of its period, was one of the places where these institutions were opened a lot. Institutions supported by the American, French and German states were established in the province. In this study, information will be given about the Capuchin priests and French institutions operating in the Mamuretulaziz Province.
