SOSYAL BECERİLERİN ÖĞRETİMİNE VE SOSYAL BECERİLERİN ÖĞRETİMİNDE KARŞILAŞILAN GÜÇLÜKLERE YÖNELİK ÖĞRETMEN GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

Betimsel nitelikte olan bu araştırma ile ilkokul 1., 2. ve 3. sınıf öğretmenlerinin kendi görüş ve tecrübelerine dayalı olarak sosyal beceri tanımını ele almak, ilkokul öğrencilerine kazandırılması gereken sosyal becerileri saptamak, beceri öğretim sürecinde kullandıkları yöntem ve teknikler ile yaşadıkları güçlükleri belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2018 – 2019 eğitim öğretim yılı güz döneminde Elazığ il merkezinde bulunan ilkokullar arasından tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 11 kurumda görevli, 1. 2. ve 3. sınıfları okutan 50 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak katılımcılar hakkında bazı bilgileri edinebilmek için araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Genel Bilgi Formu ile sosyal becerilere dönük öğretmen görüşlerinin belirlendiği Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri içerik analizi tekniği ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda sosyal beceri kavramının en çok, kişilerarası iletişim kurma ve topluma uyum sağlama açısından tanımlandığı; kendini ifade etme, iletişim kurma, problem çözme, toplumsal sorumluluk ve yardımlaşma gibi becerilerin öğretmenlerce en çok vurgulanan ve kazandırılması hedeflenen beceriler olduğu; beceri öğretim sürecinde sözlü anlatım, drama, model olma, yaparak yaşayarak öğrenme, soru cevap ve gösterip yaptırma gibi yöntemlerin daha çok kullanıldığı ve yine bu süreçte aile ve çevreden, öğretmenden, öğrenciden, okulun fiziki yapısından, zamandan ve okulun fiziki yapısından kaynaklı sorunlar yaşandığı tespit edilmiştir. With this descriptive study, it is aimed to determine definition of social skill based on 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade teachers' perspective and experiences and to determine the social skills that should be given to the primary school students, the methods and techniques used in the teaching process and the difficulties they have encountered. The sample of the study consisted of 50 primary school teachers in 11 institutions that were chosen by random sampling method among the primary schools in Elazığ city center during the 2018 - 2019 academic year. Structured interviews were conducted with the participants. The data was analyzed with content analysis technique. As a result of the research, it is determined that the concept of social skills is defined mostly in terms of interpersonal communication and adaptation to society. Self-expression, communication, problem solving, social responsibility and assistance are the most emphasized and targeted skills by teachers. In the process of teaching those skills, participants stated that verbal expression, drama, being a model, learning by doing, and questioning were employed in the classrooms more. Moreover, teachers mentioned that family and environment, teachers, students, the physical structure of the school, time, and the physical structure of the school caused problems in teaching those skills.
