OSMANLI DÖNEMİNDE KEBAN’DA BULUNAN DİNİ VE SOSYAL KURUMLAR

Abstract

Günümüzde Elazığ ilinin bir ilçesi olan Keban 18. yüzyıla kadar Osmanlı idari teşkilatı içerisinde önemli bir yere sahip değildi. Ancak bu yüzyılın başlarından itibaren buradaki maden ocaklarının işletilmeye başlanmasıyla birlikte Osmanlı mali yapısında önem kazanmaya başlamıştır. Mali gelişmeyle birlikte nüfus artışı da yaşanan bölge önemli bir yerleşim merkezi haline gelmiştir. Bu büyüme ve gelişmeye paralel olarak bölgede yeni dini ve sosyal kurumlara ihtiyaç duyulmuştur. Bu çalışmada Keban’ın şehir merkezi ve köylerinde bulunan dini ve sosyal yapılar tanıtılarak buradaki cami-mescitler hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Halka yıllarca hizmet veren ve her biri birer vakıf eseri olan bu yapıların pek çoğu günümüze ulaşmamıştır. Bu nedenle çalışma, bölgede varlığından haberdar olunamayan vakıf eserlerinin tespiti açısından önemlidir.

Keban, which is a county of the city of Elazig today, did not have an important place in the Ottoman administrative organization until the 18th Century. However, when the operation of the mines was started here in the early the 18th Century, it started to gain importance in the Ottoman financial structure. Then, the area, which had a population growth along with financial development, became an important settlement center. New religious and social institutions were requited in the area in parallel with this growth and development. In the present study, the religious and social structures in the city center and villages of Keban were introduced, and data was given on the mosques and masjids located here. Many of these structures, which served the public for years, and each of which were foundations, did not survive until our present day. For this reason, the study is important in terms of detecting foundation works that are not known to exist in the region.
