VI.-IX. YÜZYILLARDA BASRA KÖRFEZİ

Abstract

Dört yüz yıllık bir dönemi içine alan, VI. ve IX. yüzyıllarda Basra Körfezi'yle ilgili yaptıgımız bu çalısmada, genel olarak bölgenin cografyası, siyasî tarihi, etnik, iktisadî ve sosyal yapısı üzerinde durmaya çalıstık. Bölgenin bu yüzyıllardaki durumu basta Hz. Muhammed olmak üzere, Dört Halife, Emevi ve Abbasiler dönemi olarak, dört ayrı bölümde incelenip, her bölümde, kendi dönemine ait siyasi, iktisadi ve sosyal gelismeler ısıgında ele alınmaya çalısıldı. Basra Körfezi'nin cografyası ele alındıgında görüldü ki, bölge son derece önemli bir stratejik mevkide bulunmasından dolayı, tarihin en eski çaglarından beri ilk medeniyetlerin kuruldugu ve büyük siyasi, sosyal gelismelerin ve çekismelerin meydana geldigi önemli bir sahadır. Ele aldıgımız dönemde de bu özelligini kaybetmedigi ve dolayısıyla son derece hareketli bir görünüm arzettigi müsahade edilmistir. Özellikle uluslararası ticaret yolları, kara, deniz ve nehir yollarının birlestigi bir konumda olmasından dolayı, bu önemini gelecekte de koruyacagını kolaylıkla tahmin edebilmekteyiz

This thesis have enclosed period of four hundred years, from VI century to IX century about Gulf of Basra (Persian). Generally we have deliberated on the geographic,economic, social and tribe of the Gulf of Basra. In the begining of the tesiz we take up the period of Mohammed prophet , Umayyad and Abbasid at the Gulf. In that chaption we particularly have mentioned about political history and social history. When we toke up Gulf of Basra we saw that the region of the Gulf is a very important strategic lacation. So since the most prohestoric period this area have got a lot of civilization, big wars, big social events and big contentions. We saw that in the time of the region that we take up, the pozition of the Gulf area have gotten similar events in the past. Consequently, the area of the Gulf have owned most active pozition in that term that we take up. Especially because of the land trade roads, sea trade roads and riwer trade roads, Gulf of Basra have owned a very active junction at all time in the past and we easily guess that it will be protect its status in the future, too.
