ÖMER SEYFETTİN'İN HİKÂYELERİNİN SOSYOLOJİK AÇIDAN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Millî Edebiyat Dönemi'nin önemli yazarlarından biri olan Ömer Seyfettin; roman, şiir, mensur şiir, fıkra, hatıra, mektup, makale gibi çeşitli türlerde eser vermesine rağmen daha çok hikâyeleri ile ön plana çıkar. Ömer Seyfettin'in hikâyelerinde sosyal meseleler oldukça önemli yer tutar. Bu çalışmada Ömer Seyfettin'in hikâyelerinde yer alan toplumsal eleştiri unsurları, disiplinler arası bir çalışma yöntemi olan edebiyat sosyolojisi bağlamında ele alınmıştır. Çalışma, Ömer Seyfettin'in hikâyelerinin sunduğu sosyolojik verilerin açığa çıkarılabilmesi için özgün ve yerli bir yöntem ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma temelde üç ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın 'Birinci Bölüm'ü Ömer Seyfettin'in yaşamı, edebi kişiliği ve eserleri doğrultusunda ayrıntılı bilgi verildiğinden "monografi" niteliği taşımaktadır. Çalışmanın 'İkinci Bölüm'nde ise disiplinler arası bir çalışma yöntemi olan edebiyat sosyolojisi hakkında ayrıntılı bilgilere yer verildi. Çalışmanın temelini oluşturan 'Üçüncü Bölüm'de ise Ömer Seyfettin'in hikâyeleri sosyolojik açıdan incelendi. Böylece hikâyenin yazıldığı dönemdeki sosyal meseleler gözler önüne serilmiş oldu. Çalışmanın sonuna ise Ömer Seyfettin'in hikâyelerinin sosyolojik yönünün genel bir çıkarımı yapıldıktan sonra, yazarın hikâyeci yönünü aydınlatan geniş bir kaynakçaya yer verildi. Ömer Seyfettin, hikâyelerinde işlediği sosyal meseleleri bireyin ve toplumun temel değerler dünyasını oluşturan ahlakî, dinî, hukukî, millî ve örfî değerlerden yola çıkarak aşmaya çalışır.

Ömer Seyfettin, one of the important writers of the National Literature Period; Although he produced works in various genres such as novels, poems, prose poems, anecdotes, memoirs, letters, and articles, he mostly came to the fore with his stories. Social issues have a very important place in Ömer Seyfettin's stories. In this study, the elements of social criticism in Ömer Seyfettin's stories are discussed in the context of sociology of literature, which is an interdisciplinary study method. The study was carried out in order to reveal an original and local method in order to reveal the sociological data presented by Ömer Seyfettin's stories. The study basically consists of three main parts. The 'First Chapter' of the study is a "monography" since detailed information is given in the direction of Ömer Seyfettin's life, literary personality and works. In the 'Second Chapter' of the study, detailed information about the sociology of literature, which is an interdisciplinary working method, was given. In the 'Third Chapter', which forms the basis of the study, Ömer Seyfettin's stories were analyzed sociologically. Thus, the social issues at the time the story was written were revealed. At the end of the study, after a general deduction of the sociological aspect of Ömer Seyfettin's stories, a wide bibliography that illuminates the author's storytelling aspect was included. Ömer Seyfettin tries to overcome the social issues he deals with in his stories by starting from the moral, religious, legal, national and customary values that constitute the world of basic values of the individual and society.
