8. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN YENİ NESİL FEN BİLİMLERİ SORULARINA YÖNELİK ALGILARININ ÖLÇÜLMESİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin yeni nesil fen bilimleri sorularına yönelik algı düzeylerini belirlemek ve bu algıların çeşitli demografik değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini incelemektir. Araştırma, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın evrenini, 2024–2025 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Şanlıurfa ili Siverek ilçe merkezinde öğrenim gören 8. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmakta; örneklemini ise bu evrenden gönüllü olarak seçilen öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak "Yeni Nesil Fen Bilimleri Sorularına Yönelik Algı Ölçeği" ile sosyodemografik bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri yapılmış; verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistiklerin yanı sıra Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis H testlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, öğrencilerin yeni nesil fen bilimleri sorularına yönelik algı düzeylerinin genel olarak orta düzeyde olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin algı düzeylerinin bazı demografik değişkenlere (cinsiyet, akademik başarı, anne-baba eğitim durumu ve aile gelir düzeyi gibi) göre anlamlı farklılıklar gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, yeni nesil fen bilimleri sorularına yönelik algıların öğrencilerin öğrenme süreci ve sınav başarısı üzerinde etkili olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, öğretim sürecinde yeni nesil soru türlerine daha fazla yer verilmesi, öğrencilerin bu sorulara yönelik olumlu algı geliştirmelerini destekleyecek öğretim stratejilerinin kullanılması ve ölçme-değerlendirme süreçlerinin bu yaklaşıma uygun şekilde düzenlenmesi önerilmektedir.

The aim of this study is to determine the perception levels of 8th-grade students regarding new generation science questions and to examine whether these perceptions differ according to various demographic variables. The research was conducted using a survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The population of the study consists of 8th-grade students studying in the Siverek district center of Şanlıurfa province during the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year; the sample consists of students voluntarily selected from this population. The "Perception Scale Towards New Generation Science Questions" and a sociodemographic information form were used as data collection tools in the research. Validity and reliability analyses of the scale were performed; in addition to descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests were used in the analysis of the data. The research findings show that the students' perception levels regarding new generation science questions are generally at a moderate level. In addition, it was determined that the students' perception levels showed significant differences according to some demographic variables (such as gender, academic achievement, parental education level, and family income level). The results show that perceptions of new generation science questions have an impact on students' learning process and exam success. Accordingly, it is recommended that new generation question types be given more prominence in the teaching process, that teaching strategies supporting students in developing positive perceptions of these questions be used, and that measurement and evaluation processes be organized in accordance with this approach.
